Let's talk about bot housing business

Add instanced housing on the island sure, but leave the normal housing areas alone, there is no need for instanced housing on normal housing zones. Also "a limited resource" is a bit comical considering the amount of open plots on every world, minus the extremely populated NA servers. A medium or large is a luxury, not a given, a small on the other hand is very easy to get.

Yeah that’s where I’m living. lol where outside of the FC only wards, there’s only a handful of smalls per district each lotto and every opening has tons of bids, yes even in Goblet! lol Even the FC only wards are slowly starting to dwindle as the shell FCs move in. I finally got my small personal, but it took 9 months. Not quite so easy. They should’ve kept NA worlds congested to get new players/characters to fill up Dynamis, but they didn’t, so people that have been on their servers for years are having to compete with newcomers every round.

I don’t care where they put the instanced housing at this point, so long as they add it. There’s a big island off in the distance of the Island Sanctuary that I think would be perfect, because really, no one wants to live with the mammets! I made a whole thread about it in the Housing forum. They should offer a choice of neighborhood “themes” though. Like a generic plot designed to fit the landscapes of the existing residential districts. As long as it has full indoor and outdoor functionality, it would pretty much solve the underlying issue of housing scarcity. And make a lot of the animosity between the haves and the have-nots go away…

The difference with crafting is that it doesn't come at the expense of everyone else in the community, so no. Craft away.

People don't have the privilege to buy houses where they want anymore. Not after the lottery was implemented. If there are free houses on the server, they have no cause to complain.

And all EU servers + Dynamis have empty house plots next to each other that friends can get in all districts. Fc plots, the kind of houses you seem to think people are deprived of.

Again, my question goes unanswered. Why do you need 5+ houses? Why force people to move to servers, that they don't want to be on, away from their friends just so that they can have a house? Why should you be allowed to buy up multiple medium/large plots all for yourself? Do you have any reasonable explanation for wanting to purchase and hold onto houses for anything besides gil farming and rmt?

Why are you so hell-bent on adding extra hyperbole at the sake of cheapening your argument so much? 'Bot' does not mean 'anyone who does something arguably unethical that I don't like', and nobody is buying smalls for "thousands of dollars" - not even on Balmung. Overstating everything to the maximum possible degree does not make people take the problem more seriously, it makes them more skeptical of all of your arguments, even the untainted ones.

In fairness, some people actually do run bots for this stuff. It's more common than anyone should be cool with. It's a bit more commonly seen on NA data centers than EU, but Chaos in particular does have a bit of a reputation for it. You can usually identify who is botting versus who is a normal multiowner pretty easily, but that's not always the case. Some people are pretty smart with how they bot. Makes it easy to mistake for something more normal.

To be clear, I don't exactly have a horse in this race in the conventional sense. I don't really care about the housing market since I'm motivated almost entirely by greed. I tend to stick to more lucrative means of raking in the gil, which house flipping was always... honestly kinda meh for. I just felt it important to point out the OP wound up being right for potentially the wrong reasons.

I can personally find very few instances where owning multiple homes doesn't reflect poorly on the multi-home owner, where RMT is not immediatly suspect. The question that never gets answered; Why do you need 5+ houses? The only legitimate answers I have ever been given was for their use in a door to door roleplay district. That, I can understand. But to own so many of them for submarine farming? To impress people? Just because you can? It's not hard to understand why so many people are trying to buy up and hoard these houses when their RMT value, especially for mediums/larges on the OG servers are regularily listed for $800+ in RMT. Honestly I'd like to know literally any reasons multi-home owners have for why they need so many houses.

To be blunt, there's next to zero way to tell if someone running one of these operations is botting or not unless you know the entire operation - and no outside observer is going to. This isn't the old days of placard spam bots anymore. All the sub operations are done behind locked doors, and even if they're openly using gather/craft bots, they're not likely to be linked to the FC holders. It would take a massive act of sustained carelessness to be able to link an operation together like that, and even if you do pin that together, it would involve way more evidentiary links than are being provided here.

Again, you miss my point entirely, as is to be expected with Storm Peaks. Why should someone be forced to buy in a zone they don't want so you can have all your hoarded houses wherever you please? Why should you be able to deprive people of having a house next to their friends so you can own 5+ houses? Why do you need 5+ houses? Why do you need the gil from Submarine farms to remain high? Why would a submarine farmer turn to RMT if this gil was reduced? I'll wait for ONE answer to any of these.

Look at Ashe10 on twitch. He does not participate in RMT and just simply enjoys watching his gil numbers go up. I also enjoy dopamine from the number increasing, even if mine is very modest in comparison.
