In fairness, some people actually do run bots for this stuff. It's more common than anyone should be cool with. It's a bit more commonly seen on NA data centers than EU, but Chaos in particular does have a bit of a reputation for it. You can usually identify who is botting versus who is a normal multiowner pretty easily, but that's not always the case. Some people are pretty smart with how they bot. Makes it easy to mistake for something more normal.

To be clear, I don't exactly have a horse in this race in the conventional sense. I don't really care about the housing market since I'm motivated almost entirely by greed. I tend to stick to more lucrative means of raking in the gil, which house flipping was always... honestly kinda meh for. I just felt it important to point out the OP wound up being right for potentially the wrong reasons.

To be blunt, there's next to zero way to tell if someone running one of these operations is botting or not unless you know the entire operation - and no outside observer is going to. This isn't the old days of placard spam bots anymore. All the sub operations are done behind locked doors, and even if they're openly using gather/craft bots, they're not likely to be linked to the FC holders. It would take a massive act of sustained carelessness to be able to link an operation together like that, and even if you do pin that together, it would involve way more evidentiary links than are being provided here.
