I meant in terms of parts power and specs its slightly more powerful then ps5 im not picking sides on the console wars crap on what system i prefer or what is perceived as "better" because a console of choice is a prefference.

The only thing holding back XIV is Square Enix themselves.

The game makes so much money in maintenance mode that there is no real reason to expand the development team or invest more money to keep it running.
The bare minimum is all they will do, until things drastically change.

This is a cash cow project, and even if it is solely carrying their companies financials, they will never double down on it and expand it to its full potential.

Imagine an XIV where you have more than just CBU3 on development, the scope of content and gameplay that the game would have with 3-4 studios working together would be incredible. We could get new content, while also getting graphical updates, minigames and raid series every patch instead of one team trying to do everything, one thing at a time and leaving the game feeling devoid of meaningful content.

I just call it maintenance mode because there are games actually in maintenance mode that get more updates and content than XIV in its 'Live Service' form.

I'd say 2 days of content once every 4-5 or 6 months while pumping them mog shop items more and more regularly for an even more increasing price every time is pretty much maintenance mode yeah, that's also called a cash cow to fund their other projects.

And once again I dont know how many times I have to explain to you that the focus is on mog shop purchases instead of in game content, that's where a lot of the budget goes, budget that could go towards new content instead. Facts over opinion, and that is also fact.
