You are lucky that this MMo has turned into a single player but if SE had advertised their player base “we are going to turn this game into a single player experience” most of the ones who want to play an MMO would left as soon as they heard about that.
Guy praises the collective FF series that has 14 single player mainline games and about 20 spin off single player games then proceeds to play one of the only 2 MMO’s in the bunch and still wants it to be a single player game
