Anyway, this is a really tragic person, and I really do empathize with them, being somewhat of a reformed edgelord myself.

It's kinda sad actually, because I really do think it's a good recipe for some philosophical musings, and there is a conversation that could be made for Meteion/Endsinger actually being objectively correct considering the circumstances of Dead Ends or the horrifying nature of things like The Great Filter, at least before they did the Beast Tribes and a galactic conflict that ended no less than three civilizations, whether from eternal threats (Omicrons) or internal strife (Karelians) and eternal nihilism were solved by going to Space Starbucks with your mortal enemies.

It's just not the best that based on their previous posts we can't have that conversation of Endsinger being right, at least not in this thread, because no one here is going to take this person seriously. I think Endsinger is based, personally.

Stay in therapy and stay medicated. It's for the best. The alternative isn't better, in my opinion. Also, please stop making alts to come back here for your own sake, you are easily memed on, and it's just not worth your time or the mental load. I doubt you're trolling, because you're too committed to the bit. Like, take care of yourself, seriously.

I find Endsinger insane - particularly her deciding for an entire planet/universe that they don't deserve life and that their lives have no meaning. Nothing based about genocidal conclusions to me.

Okay, let me defend myself before I sound too insane, that was probably the worst way I could have worded that. I do think Endsinger is wrong in the method. Forced omnicide is no good. At this point, I've really prescribed to the theory that even if a world is doomed, and cannot be saved, it is still the responsibility of a sentient being to document and record the downfall so that they are not entirely erased to the sands of time. It was wrong for this responsibility to be forced upon the Meteia, and this is why I have sympathies for Meteion. Every funeral pyre needs someone to write an obituary, or those lives are lost in a way worse way than death, by being unrecorded as if they never existed. Kinda like the vaporization from 1984, but instead of a person, it's an entire civilization.

I don't think her base ideology is flawed though, since most of life, as described by Venat, is filled of nothing but pure suffering. And life does not have any meaning on a universal scale in our or the Ultima Thule presentation of our reality, it's an aberration at best. Meaning is derived from the free will of the subject. Learning to accept that is critical to a positive interpretation of the nihilism that Meteion suffers from. I don't have an issue with her conclusion that existence is meaningless by default. I agree with it. I'm just okay with that, and make my decisions unburdened by the inevitable futility of their consequences. ie: Worry about who and what I can worry about, and take the rest as it comes, even if it cannot be stopped. This discrepancy in the conclusion is why I didn't have an issue killing Endsinger at the end of the plot, outside of "We will die if we don't." of course.

But in serious honesty, being edgy and brooding and thinking that the importance of a character that you never felt to build a relationship with not counting as a death poll and having that viewpoint in RL is not a good mindset. This is a forum about gaming, people don't want to feel bummed down we don't want talk about killing ourselves or offing others lives and talk how society is a cold, dark, dreary reality. People like that need to search for help, speading "edge" can hurt someone mentally.
