That was not the point, the point is that I cant hate a game that I pay so much for, why would I ? I might as well throw the money out of the window of flush it down the toilet if I hate the game and I pay that much, that means I find some things good in the game that make it worth my money, that's the point of my comment

Fair enough, just seems like a weird way to prove it, but maybe that's just me. There are certain trolls who have admitted in the past to spending money on their account just to post on the forums, so I'm not sure how great of a metric that is.

I really love how people just like comments because they are against what I am saying, literally not even reading my responses or using any sort of common sense to understand the point I am trying to make

That's about typical for this forum. I mean I thought your point was pretty clear, granted you've been pretty abrasive around the forum, and now because of that, doesn't matter what you say for some people, they'll just immediately see your post and refuse to properly engage/comprehend what you're saying/hivemind "stormpeaks bad" and support anything that goes against you regardless of if you're right or wrong.

Basically the same thing that used to/still does happen to Aveyond in the rare instances where he still bothers to post here.

I feel like I was put on trial immediately upon joining the forums. I didn't know that Yoshida crying was weaponized and I didn't mean to annoy people by mentioning that. Someone in my fc told me about it and I thought it was cool. Having a developer care that much is rare. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to feel any other way.

Yeah - sadly, there is quite a difference between the in-game community and the forum one. I guess, as has been discussed already, forumites generally lean toward being a little more cynical and perhaps negative.

And when you take into consideration the number of posts made trolls pretending to be newbies of late being as frequent as they have been, I tend to think that this was a really bad case of unfortunate timing.

Im sorry you had that experience here. It echoes my own experiences a lot. Just remember, the number of crazies on this forum seems like it could be as low as single digits sometimes, while in game, hundreds of thousands if not 7 figures of people are right there with you, loving the game. I come here cause im old hat at defending things that are unpopular and I love this game, and there is nothing the crazies can do to change my mind about it. But I recommend maybe avoiding the forums at least until you are finished with MSQ.

ugh, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. As much as it's not for me, I would check out the subreddit for ffxiv at https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/ . You'll have a much better experience. It's not as much discussion, but it's more positive than here if that's what you're looking for.

Like you said, there are consequences to being regularly abrasive on a forum. For many it’s not really what you are saying, but how you go about saying it. Regularly posting snippy and disparaging replies to a variety of people will lose an audience.

Except the difference here is how people respond to Storm and are so blinded by "oh em gee Storm dared to post something" and completely miss his point/not even acknowledge his point. It's happened a few times, even outside this thread. If you don't like someone because they were mean on an online forum, fine. Ignore them, don't engage with them, and ffs don't repeatedly say you have them on ignore. If you're going to respond to them, respond how you expect to be treated. I've had issues with Storm here and there, but that doesn't mean I'm going to suddenly be childish whenever I interact with him, ESPECIALLY when he makes an objectively good point on something.

That's great for you, but for others like myself, respect is a two-way street. Certain people are quite aggressive here, are typically first to go on the offensive on numerous occasions. So they reaped what they sowed if people ignore and don't care what they have to say now.
