DC Travel and its decimation of non-Aether NA PF

Honestly they need to make PF and Duty Finder Region wide and not just localized on each DC maybe even make FCs or CWLS region wide.

Same situation on EU. Light has become the raiding DC while Chaos can barely fill a party. I desperately want them to introduce cross DC PF because being cut off from everything and everyone on my home world while alone waiting for parties to fill on a different DC for hours just sucks. I've even considered transferring my character but I've put in too much work in building my FC to just drop it and start over.

I don't think they should do anything to discourage DC hopping. IMO it is good from a raiding/PF standpoint to have a larger pool of players to play with and when patch lulls hit (and they hit pretty hard on Chaos at least) it means PF won't be as dead as it usually gets.

Honestly same. My first P9S reclear, I scored a coffer. Was super excited, equipped the item and went to grab materia from my retainer for it....no retainer. No materia, no clusters to buy materia, only MB prices (yikes). My only option was to log out, transfer home, log back in; either I stay somewhere without supplies or I have to interrupt my gameplay to travel home for my stuff. A raw deal either way.

If they could find a way to give access to those things it'd be a different story, but essentially right now DC travel has created an inequity of game experience depending on home world. Aether players don't have to give up a single thing in order to raid, while other players who are now forced to travel for PF have to give up a TON of content. We're all paying the same subscription and now getting two very different experiences for it.

I mean... at the very least I started doing Bicolor FATE grinding waiting for PFs to fill because that's all I can do when on Aether (that or Discord chat). FATE Grind in my boredom! I got 300 vouchers now! Silver linings!

I will go as so far as to say it *might* not be a bad idea to temporarily remove xcenter travel. On the Dynamis data center, it really is THAT bad. It's devastating and game breaking. Getting 10+ minute waits as healer or tank doesn't matter for things like expert roulette. Alliance raids are most often 30+ minutes if they even open at all. Crystaline Conflict doesn't happen.

New players and alts should not have to make party finder groups begging someone to join either synced or unsynced for MSQ leveling dungeons.

Removing the feature is probably not feasible. They should have cross data center party finders before enabling the cross center travel. If thats not possible, need to give significant bonuses for doing content on your own data center, and possibly even a negative effect for doing them on data centers that are not your own. Yes, it really is that bad.

While i disagree with the sentiment that DC travel was a mistake i do think a cross DC party finder needs to be one the next big leaps the team takes on and that it needs to happen sooner rather than later. I've seen whole parties made of people from primal on the aether PF simply because people decided that's where you should raid now and that's ridiculous. If party finder was shared between each DC in a region this would not be a problem at all. I really hope we get an announcement of something like this at fanfest instead of something dumb like "undoing" or penalizing even more DC travel.

That wouldn’t work for endgame content. May be a loot roll penalty that would offer reduced chances would encourage people to do PFs on their own DC without affecting individual performance. It wouldn’t really affect cross DC statics as they can plan ahead as to who gets what.

Still the only real solution now would be to make PF and DF open to an entire region.

I was actually thinking about this too, as a potential solution, giving higher rolls to people on their home DCs. It doesn't straight up punish you for gameplay or give players a reason to be intolerant of traveling players, but it still incentives individual players to play on their home DC.

Co-signed. My alt is on Seraph. Tank main, I waited 90 minutes to get the Innocence trial done through queue. (I didn't mean to wait that long, I just genuinely forgot I was queued up at some point.) It really is that bad on Dynamis. Our FC activity basically dissolved away because everyone was constantly off-world trying to get content done, so there goes the social aspect of an MMO as well. They really shouldn't have let loose with DC travel before giving Dynamis worlds a chance to set up and find some stability.

Give PF on Dynamis a try. It might surprise you.

I've been taking members of my Marilith FC through the MSQ trials using PF. So far the longest we've had to wait to fill a party is 10 minutes. I add "First time bonus - needed for MSQ" in the description. There are players who want to help and PF makes it easier to connect with those players rather than grabbing pot luck from Duty Finder matchmaking.

Primal used to have decent PF, including final turn, now a ghost town. Normally I raid on static but like to raid PF sometime off schedule. Can't anymore

Regional data center travel should be nice thing and party finder regional data centers is good too. But again we are ff14 Community. People use data center travel for there venue jobs and there would be uproar if it was shut down. But it needs to be expended. Also better adjusted
