Let us break this down. There are three words here. Deliberately, kill, and anyone.

The first is deliberately. I would first like to present my evidence for why Venat's actions were deliberate.

She did it deliberately

The next word is kill. The Google definition of kill is to "cause the death of (a person, animal, or other living thing)". The sundering by its nature forced everyone it hit to reincarnate, effectively causing the same results as killing them.

The final word is anyone. For this statement to be true, Venat's sundering would have had to impact a total of zero people. This is not true as we meet several sundered beings over the course of the storyline. This includes but is not limited to: Ardbert, Claudien, Gerolt, Rowena, ten of the Ascians, and our own character. This is a non zero amount of victims.

Therefore the statement "She did not 'deliberately kill anyone'" is false. Venat is guilty of murder on a near omnicidal scale. Your honor, I rest my case.

Erasing peoples memories is basically synonymous to killing them though. Couples and families got ripped apart, never to meet again probably.

What Hydaelyn did is basically a necessary evil and she is at least as bad as zodiark if not worse. Cause Zodiark was initially just a giant shield generator. Hydaelyn was specifically made to tear stuff apart.

She did what she had to. Ive already touched on this, there was no "right answer". Reread my post where I talked about triage.

There are times when you have to make a decision, for good or bad its the only way. Try to save this one and others who may live would die, leave this one to die even if your heart screams at you to try and save them all...you cant.

I am sure many may disagree with me, thats fine. But thats how I see it.

GOSH I hated Hermes, I felt absolutely nothing for him when Asahi merked him in the Sea. It actually aggravates the living hell out of me that he and his stupid blue bird are on that EW poster. He absolutely does not deserve to be there.

I didnt HATE Hermes, but I didnt find him sympathetic after his Memory Erasure stunt and letting Metion Go after her intentions with her Sisters were clear.
And he Basically Green Lit it and Metephorically wanted to see how it play out: turning it into a game.

As i said, it was a necessary evil. Meteion would've destroyed them anyways.

But yeah, there was nothing "good" in her doing. She basically committed the worst evil one can imagine. Taking what makes us us. Not to mention erasing her entire species and that in a dictatorial act. Zodiark had the support of most of the ancients, they collectively did choose that way. Hydaelyn on the other hand hatched her plan almost all by herself, acting like a despot.

So yeah, in my eyes she deserved her fate. She saved the universe but in doing so sacrificed her species without their consent.
