I enjoyed the story in 6.0. We could ( should ) have had more to do with Garlemald, agreed, I have heard people say they think the story was rushed, Im not sure thats actually the case, but Garlemald should have been fleshed out more IMO. We should have had some lines in the Forum at Sharlayan ( I could think of one or two sharp comebacks after that Ishgard sneer ), by and large I did enjoy it.

I have never said this game is perfect ( BTW I do NOT appreciate having someone claim I said otherwise when I never DID, thank you. )

Felt sorry for the Ancients actually, felt that Venat had to make a bloody horrible choice in an almost untenable situation. I am aware some may disagree, but thats them. She knew what was coming, the threat Meteion and her sisters represented, had to make an excruciating choice that condemned many to suffering..but a sword doesnt have to enjoy being forged, heated, quenched, hammered..what matters is that we got to a point where we COULD stand alone.

A child has to grow sooner or later, often painful, often grief stricken, but necessary. In her place, ask yourself what YOU would have done.

Venat was a sympathetic hero to me, carrying a burden of what she had done and remorse for her actions, at the same time knowing there was no other way.

Awesome: Ill give you a small example. During a mass casualty training exercise, we were trained in triage. What does that mean? Knowing that you cant save some no matter what you do and you MUST leave them. You have no idea how I felt when the examiner said "She has internal injuries, we dont have time, leave her and move on"

It was a gutpunch, you want to save them all. it was also a harsh lesson in what we would face in a REAL crisis. Hard decisions have to be made.

( I can hear you now "You are making this up"..no Im not. Ask any first responder, ask any paramedic, any doctor, any nurse anywhere what triage means in a mass casualty incident. )

I'm *pretty sure* I don't have the full correct answer, but part of it at least is I'm pretty sure they're a group that hated the EW story and wanted Zodiark to be the hero instead of Hydaelyn. With some stuff thrown in from some random user who DM'd me a while back on discord (I have no idea who that user was, and they've since deleted what I'm guessing was a throwaway account), I'm suspecting there's also 4chan culture aspect to it as well, but this is just speculation on my end.

Sigh, to clarify, again (and I hope for the final time), no I don't actually don't make that comic so that zodiark is the hero.

First and foremost, the idea was born simply because I was thinking of how cool it'll be if we get zodiark trance skill for SMN in 7.0. I find the trance system to be cooler than egi, so there's that. Plus I've been wanting to practice a more action oriented comic, so it's suppose to kill two birds with one stone.

Second, rather than wanting to make zodiark the hero, the comic is more of my reaction to how the story handles Venat. People may not trust me, but believe it when I said that I used to be on hydaelyn camp/side. When people was accusing her of being the bad guy back in ShB, I told them to wait until EW, to hear her side of the whole event. Fast forward to EW, instead of finding Venat to be the sympathetic good guy who accidentally cause sundering, she's now someone who deliberately killing her own people based on her ideology after hearing 2 lines report from a corrupted entelechy. And worse, she refuse to tell anyone, including her followers. Now if the story treat her like, for example, Thordan or Ilberd, by having the Scions to question, call her out, and "refuse" her "love", then I won't have any problem with EW. Yet what happened is the opposite. The scions have always been against "killing/sacrificing people for the greater good", why now they're suddenly okay with it?

So yeah, you know when they said betrayal hurts more than some strangers hurting you? I suppose that's what I've been feeling since EW. Enough to push me into making the comic.

Heck, I don't even know 4chan has a videogame/mmo community. I only posted on reddit and my twitter. Sometimes later, someone edited one page and post it on shitpostxiv subreddit, which I assume that's where 4chan get it from. If not from shitpostxiv, I suspect that the "leaker" is the one who posted it there themself.

The 4chan thing is based off of what this mystery person sent me (someone later told me this individual was not to be trusted) of screencaps of 4chan/discord posts where the individuals in the caps were speaking in typical 4chan mannerisms (dropping slurs as a normal mode of speech), and as I said was just speculation on my part, not an accusation or anything like that.

Sooner or later, the Final Days would come, she wanted us ready and able to fight, to finish what the Ancients had started..to bring an end to a horrifying mistake one of their own had made. Hermes was a fool, reckless, besotted with his own beliefs and did not stop to THINK on what his creation was capable of. Even when confronted with his creations deadly potential, he never ceased to believe that he was right.

Mankind could not travel down the same road her peers had, their world was doomed to fail, Her children were the only ones who could hope to defeat the threat the Ancients had unleashed, thanks to their arrogance and smug superiority.

Erasing peoples memories is basically synonymous to killing them though. Couples and families got ripped apart, never to meet again probably.

What Hydaelyn did is basically a necessary evil and she is at least as bad as zodiark if not worse. Cause Zodiark was initially just a giant shield generator. Hydaelyn was specifically made to tear stuff apart.
