Im sure you realize no other succesful MMO sells you a skip for "their main selling point of the game"

WoW doesnt sell you raid clears, GW2 doesnt sell you their collect-a-thon stuff, ESO doesnt sell story skips as far as im aware (its been a while)

Square sells you story skips because to them only people populating the latest expansion matters.

To be fair, SE does alot of stupid things, and the story skip goes up to SHB I think. There is no way to skip EW, so they want people to play the latest story at the very least. WoW does sell you the ability to get a class to the latest expansion too, not a raid clear sure but it gets you there faster. ESO does not sell story skips true, but its a bit different with them as you can jump into the latest expansion with any character at anytime so long as you buy it.

Well, if you want to see it as an excuse go ahead. Each to their own and all. I just think its more a case that they are so greedy (Like most AAA studios in this capitalistic hellhole) that they see it both as a selling point they flaunt, but also want to make money off those who are not interested in that part of the game on the side.

Endwalker is definitely a low point in the game for me.

The story is good but hardly great. For every high point there is some considerable drag. It was always going to be hard topping Shadowbringers but I feel Endwalker is much closer to Stormblood... which is not exactly a complicate even if I do feel Stormblood's MSQ gets too much criticism. What really damns Endwalker is the severe lack of content longevity. Almost nothing lasts this expansion either due to paltry rewards or simply there being no actual reason to continue doing whatever releases beyond a few days/weeks. The two major selling points of this expansion were Island Sanctuary and Criterion which... haven't exactly gone over well for the precise reasons I just said. What's frustrating is they both have so much potential but we keep cycling back to the utter lack of longevity. Island Sanctuary becomes nothing more than a glorified retainer venture you visit ten minutes a day or once a week. There's literally nothing else you can do with it once you get the ball rolling.

Say what you will about Eureka or Bozja. They may have been flawed but they gave you a reason to keep playing. The same cannot be said for almost anything Endwalker has offered.

Story was the best part of endwalker for me at least. Not as good as shadowbringers but still good

It's not just EW. Most people literally only praise X expansion for the story like they're an IGN journalist.

HW was peak. I miss when this game was good. I have no drive to even do Extreme trials and Alliance raids any more, much less Savage. I did 99 of EW Ex trials 1, 2, 3 and 4, but 5 and 6 I'm just drained and can't even be bothered to learn them. I've never felt this before in any expansion.

The newest Extreme is a lot of fun. I recommend trying it!

Once you learn it, don't join prog parties because they will always get stuck on some of the mechanics and it'll be draining. But it's only draining because this is a harder fight to learn than some of the other extremes. Once you've got it on farm, it's a lot of fun just to farm it.

What i feel with XIV is that the highs are SUPER HIGH but the lows as well are greatly noticable
Not long ago i did a SHB and EW new game+, doing now a HW one as well, but only gonna talk about those 2 because have them fresh
In SHB you have moments like Hades, Thancred "death", Elidibus WOL, Exarch sacrifice which are just 11/10 moments and leave your mouth with great taste but then I noticed moments like being distracted in fairy land, II megh mine section or to some extent Kholusia, tho that last goes more to personal i would say
EW was kinda worse and noticeable, Garlemald, Zodiark, Elpis on the great scheme and that final fight with Meteion and Zenos are just so good but then you have Moon phase and Laberynthos wich are just, too bad imo

As a note have to say the experience was way more light due to me having flying unlocked (Looking at you Labyrinthos)

This is when you step away from the game you are playing. The game is still phenomenal. You are burned out. Take a break for gods sake. WTH is wrong with people like you. TAKE A BREAK!
