Thread: Endwalker is the lowest point of this game since 1.0

It is interesting that haha. Especially considering I took a break from HW to SHB. I will say I kinda wanted to put ARR's 2.x patches as their own thing. It has some of my favourite quests (Outside the filler) and character beats, and one of the reasons I rank HW lower then most is because I dislike how it just throws away most of that in a very dissapointing and short manner.

Omg yes! That's why I rank it so low too. The shift in story telling and moving away from everything from ARR just felt off for me. Like the game felt too different story wise if that makes sense.

Glad I am not the only one who thinks that haha! Yeah it very much feels like it had different writers almost, who did not want to continue what was already built and decided to just throw it away before doing their own thing.

I mean the fact I am still here subscribing to the game kinda shows I am still enjoying the gameplay! Mostly casual, but Pandemonium has alot of fun bosses, and is my favourite Raid story so far. The Alliance Raid about the Twelve started off strong, but the second was a bit of a downgrade I admit. I am still not sure about its plot, waiting to see how they conclude it to decide. Yes I talk alot about the story, but it is my favourite aspect of the game haha. Have been enjoying it I adore Reaper, its become my main this Expansion. Not a fan of all the job changes, and I am one of those few who prefer older SMN, but still mostly enjoying them. I do wish we had a Bozja-like zone, but I can kinda understand why they wanted to take a break from that approach. That said I wish they had done something more then just ‘collect totems’ perhaps look back at how HW did its Relic weapon. I like the Varient Dunegons, even if the rewards system is poor. Hopefully its something they can build off, as I like more solo hard content. Oh and very much enjoy the Island Sanctuary, hope its something they continue in 7.0 and beyond and do not forget about.

Ill judge it more Critically, and Fairly once its 100% Finished and we get the Final Patch leading to 7.0.

Heavensward: even If I dont love it like everyone else, is still mostly solid overall
Stormbloods 1st arc was pretty mid, but Post was amazing, story took abit to pick up, but awesome in the end
Shadowbringers is My Favorite that I will Simp for. Bozja disappointed me in some areas, otherwise peak FFXIV imo

Endwalker is a Rollercoaster like Arr, but for me has been "mostly" good. Story should have been split, but ah well.
But I dont feel I can fully Grade the Expansion until it is 100% done. I want to see EVERYTHING 1st.

I enjoy the content in this game.
Im just not a Hardcore Raider, so I cant speak on that front.

As far as I'm concerned, the story is the worst part about EW. I could forgive awful gameplay elements if the story was at least good but it wasn't. ShB nerfed so many gameplay elements as a whole but the expansion is still one of the best because the content and story were just so engaging. EW doesn't even have a good story to make up for the lack of content longevity, especially given that content takes longer to be released now. I was mentally checked out with the story by level 85 and nothing thus far has really made me invested in it. 7.0 cannot come fast enough.

Considering the story is the main selling point of the game, that would be why you see it being brought up more often. Dismissing that is disingenuous when talking about the game.

That being said, yeah the end game content this expansion has been lacking. A ton of updates for the new player experience though.
