Endwalker is the lowest point of this game since 1.0

Final Fantasy XIV is not a Netflix show. It’s a video game. At this point I’m only subscribed to make adult content and annoy people. It’s not a good video game at this point. The story was pretty banger, but not worth a monthly sub after it’s done.

Considering the story is the main selling point of the game, that would be why you see it being brought up more often. Dismissing that is disingenuous when talking about the game.

That being said, yeah the end game content this expansion has been lacking. A ton of updates for the new player experience though.

I enjoy the content in this game.
Im just not a Hardcore Raider, so I cant speak on that front.

I would say it is mid.

The only semi-stand-out is HW and ShB for me - they had the right amount of depth for me.

I cannot praise SB as much, simply because Eureka ultimately came down to FATE farming for the vast majority of it - Something not unlike their several attempts on the original Diadem. - Literally, if you slapped relic weapons inside of the OG Diadem then you'd essentially be left with a Eureka experience for over 1/2 of it. - Logos actions and Baldesion Arsenal were the only redeemable factors and IMO Logos should not be tied to exploratory content alone (e.g., C&V dungeons) - and arguably that Baldesion Arsenal is so inextricably linked with Hydatos means you're essentially having the participation being carried by Discord in 99% of cases.

SB was definitely the worst for me. Granted, I did quite like the state of crafting - Edit: But this was only because of how much went into creating and optimizing macros, and gearing. Something that isn't as present now, and not present in ShB.

I personally rate post-Stormblood as the weakest part of the game so far.

Ala Mhigo gets a rushed conclusion to an already-rushed story, Gosetsu and Yotsuyu surviving didn't really add much to either of their arcs, Asahi is the most punchable face in the game, and Somehow Zenos Returned.

The actual raids in Ivalice were pretty good (aside from the Orbonne bosses just plain never shutting up), but the story for it was based on games that I've never played, so it didn't do much for me, and Ramza is just an ass the whole way through.

The Four Lords story ends on a bit of an anticlimax with Kouryu just getting stuffed back in his rock in a cut scene.

All I'm gonna say about Eureka is that I wasn't a fan.

I won't pretend Endwalker is perfect, it's just not my least favorite.

Omg yes! That's why I rank it so low too. The shift in story telling and moving away from everything from ARR just felt off for me. Like the game felt too different story wise if that makes sense.

Glad I am not the only one who thinks that haha! Yeah it very much feels like it had different writers almost, who did not want to continue what was already built and decided to just throw it away before doing their own thing.

I mean the fact I am still here subscribing to the game kinda shows I am still enjoying the gameplay! Mostly casual, but Pandemonium has alot of fun bosses, and is my favourite Raid story so far. The Alliance Raid about the Twelve started off strong, but the second was a bit of a downgrade I admit. I am still not sure about its plot, waiting to see how they conclude it to decide. Yes I talk alot about the story, but it is my favourite aspect of the game haha. Have been enjoying it I adore Reaper, its become my main this Expansion. Not a fan of all the job changes, and I am one of those few who prefer older SMN, but still mostly enjoying them. I do wish we had a Bozja-like zone, but I can kinda understand why they wanted to take a break from that approach. That said I wish they had done something more then just ‘collect totems’ perhaps look back at how HW did its Relic weapon. I like the Varient Dunegons, even if the rewards system is poor. Hopefully its something they can build off, as I like more solo hard content. Oh and very much enjoy the Island Sanctuary, hope its something they continue in 7.0 and beyond and do not forget about.

As far as I'm concerned, the story is the worst part about EW. I could forgive awful gameplay elements if the story was at least good but it wasn't. ShB nerfed so many gameplay elements as a whole but the expansion is still one of the best because the content and story were just so engaging. EW doesn't even have a good story to make up for the lack of content longevity, especially given that content takes longer to be released now. I was mentally checked out with the story by level 85 and nothing thus far has really made me invested in it. 7.0 cannot come fast enough.

Each patch costs $65 in subscription fees over its five-month duration. We get roughly two hours of story content per patch. While Endwalker's MSRP might be earned, its subscription cost is not, so the dismissal is fair. It would be better if this game did not have a subscription.

I do not have a huge problem with Endwalker, is not perfect, has issues that should be resolved (likely will never be) but I log on every day still and enjoy it, so I think its worth the less than 50 cents a day that I pay to play.

it would be better if they handed out caramel sundaes for free too, but I am not holding my breath expecting that.
