ARR is still peak for me.
Sure the gameplay wasn't perfect and frankly the tuning was pretty terrible at times. But game hadn't had it's soul nickel and dimed out of existence yet nor had players min maxed themselves into oblivion, the social aspects of the game were still front and centre and the community was healthy and hearty.
I honestly miss the days of queueing for raids in Wineport, jobs having enough flexibility to try new approaches to problems and even just the evenings doing things like helping the attack on titan shells to get people their relic weapons.
Now I just click a few buttons in PF to hit a mindless punchbag with some randoms that I'll almost certainly never see again. Meh.
Endwalker feels like Shadowbringers with worse music and a weaker plot. Also meh.
ARR had a solid story too! Sure it has some filler but it does a good job introducing us to the world.ARR is still peak for me.

My unpopular ranking of the game is as follows.
SHB>ARR>SB>HW>EW
Maybe ew has some recency biased in it so it could change in the future.
1.0 -> 1.2 was when the game was peak for me. I honestly don't really take you seriously, at all. Tell me specifically what you hated about 1.0?HW was peak. I miss when this game was good. I have no drive to even do Extreme trials and Alliance raids any more, much less Savage. I did 99 of EW Ex trials 1, 2, 3 and 4, but 5 and 6 I'm just drained and can't even be bothered to learn them. I've never felt this before in any expansion.
I enjoyed Endwalker. Is it perfect? No. There are areas in the story I felt could be improved, but no expansion or game is perfect. Plus when it comes to lore much of it is subjective. My personal ranking goes Shadowbringer, Endwalker, Stormblood, Heavensward and ARR. Enjoyed them all though.
Awww, if it wasn't for shb being better you ALMOST had your favorite list from newest to oldest.I enjoyed Endwalker. Is it perfect? It is interesting that haha. Especially considering I took a break from HW to SHB. I will say I kinda wanted to put ARR's 2.x patches as their own thing. It has some of my favourite quests (Outside the filler) and character beats, and one of the reasons I rank HW lower then most is because I dislike how it just throws away most of that in a very dissapointing and short manner.

I am in a very similar boat, even down to the played EXs. I think the job changes/direction have been dragging my experience down to a point that I only have fun if I'm working towards something, and since the content in EW that I do enjoy doesn't have much longevity, my activity's been sparse at best. Here's hoping that 7.0 (hell, even BLU in 6.45) reignites that interest I had.
