Each world only processes 75 logins per minute. Yoshi-P stated this shortly after EW launch back when they were dealing with the frequent login queue disconnections.

I understand why they do the login queue, I just don't understand why they haven't rewritten the message that's displayed so that it doesn't lie and say the world is full. It could just say "logging in, please wait" or something.
Instead of thinking of it as "waiting in line," think of it as "waiting for the bus." Doesn't matter where you're standing or when you got to the bus stop, you're all still waiting for the log-in bus to show up and take you all in.
Still works in times of high loads, as the buses can only handle so many players before they're at capacity and you have to wait for another bus to pick up the next batch.

Read the topic title. Now think, would a company make use of it?
Some companies would.
Considering how often I don't have any login queue during off peak hours, I doubt SE is abusing the system in order to trick players.
People can throw out their cynical tinfoil hat theories if they want. Having to wait in a 30 second log in queue isn't going to convince someone with common sense and some MMO experience that it's a sign a game is massively populated at the moment.
Titanmen, if you're reading this: don't forget to bookmark this thread to necro when 7.0 is released. It will be a relevant topic.
What a load of......good GRIEF.The login queues are literally fake, the servers slow down the logins on purpose to make it seem like the servers are full but they arent, that's the reason why at 5 AM on Sagittarius which is an absolute dead server that was open recently you get 30 people queues, yet it's 5 in the morning.
Had it EVER occurred to you that you have people logging in from all over the world, and whilst it may be 5am there, it isnt everywhere else? You DO know how timezones work?
Where the HELL did you get this asinine idea from.???
