But won't that cause GNB to have to meld in instances they wouldn't have to meld to get a comfy GCD to fit everything in a No Mercy window? It seems like the mix and match is a good idea so different classes can find what works for them.

That, and you'd have to remeld every time you played a different job that shares gear but has different sks/sps reqs.
