So why do they constantly making up excuses about limited data space? For example when asked for more glamour plates.
The reality is they are already pushing the outdated engine to its limits. Everytime they are asked about a feature its always "cant do, something something 1.0 code"
Probably the excuse for developing FF16 maybe? Also the 1.0 code is the meme from people while SE already stated that no 1.0 code lingering anymoreSo why do they constantly making up excuses about limited data space? For example when asked for more glamour plates.

That's a flat out lie from Yoshi P. Most of the netcode we have right now is actually revamped in 2.0.
The real reason is because they want to minimize server costs and server overhead. It's pure business 101: cost-cutting.
This is a budget McDonald's online video game. Don't expect quality.
Except they've also announced that FFXIV was approved for a major infrastructure update that will begin in 7.0 and take 3-4 years to complete. So why do they constantly making up excuses about limited data space? For example when asked for more glamour plates.

What can't be done now may be possible when that's completed.
Another issue they have to consider is what player clients are capable of handling. Not everyone has a high end PC gaming machine. They can do all the upgrades in the world to their infrastructure and it doesn't mean squat if players aren't likewise upgrading their clients to handle the changes.
PC will have minimum/recommended system requirements updated for 7.0. They have promised PS4 support through at least 7.0 but have made no promises past that. I expect that means that the game will be seeing some really helpful QoL changes as soon as PS4 support is dropped. I know they're keeping an eye on how many players are moving from PS4 to PS5.
That's the hilarious part, people think this whole "major graphical update !!" will be anything more than adding a few details via adding items, and some shaders like graphics (that already have existed for years thanks to mods and the one program we dont talk about)
But hey, it only took them like 10 years to do what modders do right ? And they'll probably manage to mess it up too and it'll be such an underwhelming mess than people will stick to the program we dont talk about, hooray !
i find your lack of faith....disturbing.That's the hilarious part, people think this whole "major graphical update !!" will be anything more than adding a few details via adding items, and some shaders like graphics (that already have existed for years thanks to mods and the one program we dont talk about)
This is Square Enix, they havent fixed the housing scarcity since it's been released, please forgive me for having 0 faith in them. It took them multiple years to add 5 wards that were filled in 2 rounds so yeah faith is pretty much 0
The fact that the word "faith" is used at all in a capitalist economy where the corporation's incentive is to maximize its profits and not be the customer's friend...
That's what's disturbing.
Imagine unironically seeing placing FAITH in a CORPO as a good thing.
At this point I think gamers, and really just consumers in general, have only themselves to blame because most of them are THIS stupid and gullible!!!
Or maybe it's not such a bad thing since people are all getting a high from being such loyal paypigs
