If bard was easy and could easily climb before then I would like to hear from those who got all the way up the ranks playing solely as bards. Have either of you guys done that?

Except for super early into Season 1, I played primarily BRD season 1-3 and reached crystal in all 3 seasons and then gave up trying to play ranked in season 4 when ranked queues were 30+ minutes but that has nothing to do with how strong or weak BRD was since I could have done the same with MCH, or WAR, or DRG, or BLM (especially BLM during Season 2 lol)
This is how I know you don't know how to play the game lol. MCH is extremely strong and has a very easy burst setup. The only thing that is annoying is cycling past the dot which forces them into melee range (which is equally as stupid.)
The amount of people I come across who do not use recuperate, pop purify or guard too early and just simply have pure tunnel vision and don't back off when getting focused is absolutely terrifying. Dying once or twice is fine, but every game there's at least 2 people who die 5+ times on either team and it scares me because I simply do not understand how you die that often. If I die that much it means my brain is off and its time to take a break.
There was also only 30 people in the top 100 until right before the season ended and the season before that had the same person with 3 different characters in the top 3...So, doesn't really say much lol.

Season one I went from Gold to Crystal as BRD. I switched because they refused to do anything with RPR. It was really easy. Like amazingly so. I almost never got targeted and when I did I just kited people to death or bound them in the back and sprinted back to clean up 5 vs 4. Most of the time I just cleaved the enemy team then swapped when I saw a teammate setting up to burst and made sure their target didn't escape. People keep asking why silence got nerfed. I don't know maybe it's because when I get silenced I can't remember how to punch (amazing logic here). I am shocked however that the silence got nerfed and MoN is still running wild.
Was the nerf the right thing to do? I couldn't say. It literally just happened this week. Needs more play. It's not like the ninja nerfs where I knew it wouldn't change a thing.
I feel like they really are just trying to keep people from doing big damage with no threat of retaliation. MCH isn't a good measure for BRD as it has always had shit mobility by comparison. We need to play more games then give collective feedback. Nothing is ever perfect.
Other players being garbage and having no targeting sense != BRD is a strong and easy job. Being dove by two competent melee players who are awake and breathing in your general direction is a death sentence, unless you get a LOT of help and peel from your own team.
We don't need to "wait and see" for such a gigantic nerf, the difference was immediately tangible like night and day. Not to beat the dead horse anymore, but taking away damage AND range AND duration basically amounted to deleting the button. I can tell you for a fact that it has completely changed how BRD plays, where BRD stands, what LoS/sightline options are available to BRD--everything has changed for the worse. It's an incredibly easy job to punish now, even more so than before. At least before the nerf, the enemy team usually had to sink resources into forcing you out of the fight, but now BRD basically gets killed for free by soaking incidental damage because it's forced to play at =<15y--damage that it doesn't have the HP or defensive tools to absorb. It's just DNC but worse.
Big damage? What big damage? See my number crunchies in my earlier post. BRD never had big damage. If you want to talk about big damage with no threat of retaliation, let's talk about MCH Wildfire/Marksman's Spite combo doing an instant 48k damage that snapshots from 50y away. Doesn't matter if you break LoS, once the MCH casts it, you're going to take the damage.

I would say firing off your entire kit at range is a pretty big deal when most other jobs need to move in and out to be effective. Did you have DRG numbers? No but did you have to enter melee where you can get hit with stun MoN etc? Underselling BRD lethality pre patch due to skewed perspective on what "Big Damage" means is laughable.
So let's put our thinking cap on. If they change an ability to require closer range on a ranged class which needs to be further away to do max damage what does that mean? Probably that repelling was previously being used offensively and they don't want it to be.
You know countering MCH is really easy unless you aren't paying attention or get focused.
It's understandable why Ransu is mad. He plays BRD a lot. I usually don't reply to people like you who have 15 posts and every single one is them complaining. But it needs to be said that you need to play more and type less because you clearly don't get it.
Not sure what forum post count has anything to do with anything, but excuse me for not posting glowing praise every time I see something cool in game (to be fair, this game has a lot of cool things).
I'm also not sure what the obsession is with forcing BRD to weave between ranges when the archetype is built from the very beginning to be a long range combat support. If you feel like a BRD is untouchable, it's because either your team is bad at flanking/diving, or the enemy BRD is good at what they do. It's not easy to maintain the proper spacing while still contributing to the fight, especially if you're "using Repelling Shot offensively" like "they don't want it to be"--that's already by definition doing the range weaving that you people want so badly? I'm not underselling BRD's lethality at all. If it was so easy to murderize everyone from 10 miles away on pre-patch BRD, why didn't we see Top 100 dominated by BRD mains? Again, don't mistake good BRD play for BRD being a strong job.
And you know as well as I do that due to server ticks, it's a coinflip if you try to Guard MCH LB on reaction.
Play more and type less? I've been playing in Top 100 matchmaking brackets since S1. Tell me more about how much I haven't seen.

So providing valid discussion points backed by data and experience is just "complaining" huh
That's cool
The devs made what I consider to be a bad decision, and some of you think it's a good decision. I'm presenting my argument against that, nothing more, nothing less. It's a forum. It's meant for discussion.
I liked bard. But it's reliant on team members to get someone to 50%. At 50% you have a reliable burst combo with silence to kill someone.
So like Ninja, but you can't chain it, you don't have a ton of survivability, you don't have a ton of escapes, and you dont have a ton of mobility.
Wait, why hasn't ninja been nerfed in a meaningful way yet?
