I know you played the game at least moderately in Shadowbringers by your own admission, so what is your excuse for pretending not to know about the Trust system? Or is the phrasing offending you? Or are you reaching?
I'm sorry what ? I am literally calling out the trust system, that's exactly what I'm doing, looks like that went right over your head
Encouraging players to play with NPC's instead of actual players in an MMO is... something else, and is not normal.
Good try for a "gotcha" moment though, sadly it failed miserably
SE is aiming for a wider audience than typical MMORPG players. It's a different normal than before, but one that ensures that players who are in the game for the Final Fantasy, and not the MMORPG, can more easily complete the MSQ.
You could level up through the entirety of World of Warcraft over the years without ever touching a dungeon instance or playing in a group with other people. Same for most MMORPGs over the last 20 years. FFXIV is the only game that requires a player to engage in group play in order to level up.

I'm pretty sure most view FFXIV as a Final Fantasy game first, and an MMO second. Just about everything is gated behind MSQ progression. I'm not sure why anyone would consider this out of the norm. Perhaps for an MMORPG, but definitely not for a Final Fantasy game.SE is aiming for a wider audience than typical MMORPG players. That doesnt mean you should literally encourage players to play with NPC's instead of actual humans in a facebook post about the upcoming patch

You realize it's entirely possible to do the first time with Trusts so you can go at your pace and read things and take in the environment and then do those again with people in roulettes, right? And they're presenting Trusts as an option not the only path. The whole idea is being able to do the story by yourself or with friends and it's up to us which we prefer. The optional content still requires playing with others including things like daily roulettes.
Each to their own and all, but I really liked how Zenos was handled. He is not my fav villian, but he is an interesting one with his obsession with the WoL. Could it have been fleshed out a bit more? Sure, but thats just another sacrifice of EW concluding by 6.0. He had some great moments, such as the body swapping, Alisaie giving him a verbal thrashing and “That, I cannot deny.” It made for a great conclusion to the expansion, in my opinion.
The only thing I do not get is why people think he will be back. They have done that trick before. What would be the point? Especially as we have Zero, who is empathising just how cruel he was.

Hmm I guess ill play on side of Zenos fan.
Honestly saying Zenos ruin endwalker is kinda meh. Zenos final battle works perfectly. He has proven time and time again to be the you that you aren't.
Example: How many of you can beat Ex Unreal <- I'm sure many of you can
How many of you can beat day 1 savage blind <- I'm sure some of you can
But how many truly go beyond the call of duty to tackle ultimates without hate, without scorn, without ire.
I like to think Zenos can do all of that. What makes zenos so perfect is that He is you at peek perfection, your mirror. The climatic duel between you and him is ending it all once and for all. The perfect challenge, the fight that is one more, the dance with the devil as they say.
Meteion eh she ok.... But Damn Zenos is just amazing toward that fight. THIS IS MY MOMENT OUR MOMENT... considering everything you been through all the stuff you have seen and finally someone who gets you, who understands you, someone who reads you just as you read them.
Zenos is the peanut butter to your jelly sandwhich and the man earns it toward the end. I would love for him to stay dead tho please don't bring him back he earned that sleep.
You open the door theres nothing in sight. You close the door wondering whats in sight. But lets be honest its probably gonna just let you down.

The issue with Zenos was that he took away from the more political aspect of the story, which is one of the things that have elevated FFXIV above most video games stories.
Though in the end, the most disappointing thing was lack of option to just walk away from him rather than being forced to indulge in his fetish.

How exactly did he take away from the more political aspect of the story? Genuinely wondering. The issue with Zenos was that he took away from the more political aspect of the story, which is one of the things that have elevated FFXIV above most video games stories.

Also is fighting is his "fetish" wouldn't it only be fair to say it's the WoLs "fetish" as well? Isn't that kind of the whole point?
