The game was going to die out because….well it’s been 20 years of the game going to die out

Yet it’s still very much around and active….weird
It's never even remotely brought up when people talk about what mmo to play. Even then, if it is it’s more shock that people still play it. Even if let's say 200,000 people play XI, it doesn't matter. There's more bots on 14 at 2 am.

You like the game that's an obvious given, but it's archaic. The new remastered version of it will die unless it completely changes how it runs. Wow, and Final Fantasy 14 are the top dogs now for a reason. That reason is accessibility. Think of how tedious it is to set up an XI account. The confusion of the subscription model. It's $1.00 per character. Not additional ones, but per. So you get past that, and you make your character. Cool, now what city state or server do you pick? You have no clue, so you just pick. Did you pick a good one? Who knows? Then you finally get into the game. The controls by default are nuts. Because it's designed for laptops and PS2s. You have to press control pad minus to bring up the god-awful menu and navigate through menu hell in order to fix it. A casual player isn't going to do all of that. Hell, I doubt most of them make it past the Playonline Veiwer. Let's be real.

XI isn't some power house mmo anymore. It's cool it's still around, and it's cool you guys enjoy it, but the times they are a changin. 14 will eventually meet the same fate. It's perfectly normal.
