With a different dev team hopefully that actually innovates in the content they create. Hopefully. Content in FFXIV is always more and more of the same and it's an absolute bore.

Well that's what I mean, if they used a new engine and didn't have restraints from severe hardware limitations (aka the ancient PS4 lol), etc. I think they can really get creative with fresh ideas and what they'd like to do. My hope one day is to have an MMORPG that takes a lot of actual skill, aiming, blocking and timing attacks, hitting enemy pressure points like shooting an arrow or bullet at a large enemies weak point to temporarily weaken it so the team can unleash some powerful attacks, hiding behind pillars or trees, using the environment, things like that would be incredible in an open world detailed sense. Going on hunting quests with your friends, kind of like how 11 required a lot of time and skill. I know things are faster now and "people don't have the time", but the same could be said for when 11 was out years and years ago. Also Elden Ring is very difficult and loads of people play and enjoy the difficult content and challenge of it all.

That's because just about every time they have tried doing something different in FFXIV, players ended up disliking it. So they are sticking to the same old formula that they know works.
That is partially the problem though, I agree with that. FFXIV players dont like/ are not tolerating any sort of innovation and then complain that there is none.
It's a vicious circle really
I never disagreed with that, believe me, the community is at fault as much as the devs, it's a problem on both ends, if they dare create new content that requires effort, it will get bashed down, and if they dont they'll get bashed down by people that want content that require effort
there's no winning really
