Hiya Dixie, yeah I was out touching grass. It rained last night, the grass was wet. Funny that.

its been 8 weeks since 6.35 release, you are NOT ALLOWED TO DO THE CONTENT GUYS You have to play the game at 0.01x speed or your playing too much and you should go play something else.

Im not too sure how you translate "play at your own speed and in your own time" to the above, but..whatever.

BTW Im now eternally curious: what does "legitimately playing the game" even mean? Talk about vague...

That seems to be what an increasingly smaller minority of players continues suggesting time and time again whenever people bring up the longevity of content this expansion. Thankfully as time has gone on more people have opened their eyes to the obvious truth of the matter.

I look forward to whenever the influencers for this game run out of material to cover and are thus once again compelled to return to my threads in search of video material. If they actually cared about this game they would be taking an active role in discussing and finding solutions to its issues rather than making 10 minute furniture videos, anyway.

I actually remember a quest in Foundation that referenced the vague idea of the rebuilding of the Brume. At the time I honestly thought it was going to be a restoration thing. Would make sense (imo) to stick it there and continue our fixing up of the city since we already did the Firmament.

Or idk, give Ala Mhigo the makeover/development people have been asking for

Im chalking EW as an expansion devs pushed to the side after putting in the minimum. Even though they mention there has not been any effect on FFXIV development, I seriously cant believe that and feel a majority of their focus is on FFXVI and its launch especially with leadership, a surprising amount of scuffed changes were just way overlooked...

I think it’s time we break from some of the negativity and instead cast our eyes to the future. Although much has been done to undermine confidence in FFXIV this expansion, I don’t think we’re yet past the point of no return. To that end, I’ve prepared some things that I think would go a long way towards rebuilding the trust that was lost, otherwise it does seem to be that many are unwilling to carry on with the current state of affairs.

Tell us you dont play other MMO's without telling us you dont play other MMO's, there is no "crawling back" after people go over to other MMO's, people stay there, in the absolute best case scenario they play both, that's what happened with the massive wow exodus, they all tried FFXIV and made the population explode, then they crawled back to WoW, if you think people crawl back to FFXIV after trying other MMO's, you are delusional, not everyone wants free handout relics and an absolute bare expansion with barely any content to do at all

Pretty much this.

This expansion I've definitely played more FFXI than I have FFXIV because unlike here FFXI actually gives me stuff to do and work towards. The classic jobs from the franchise I like were actually allowed to have distinct gameplay and full fledged job fantasies over there instead of the joke that this game's Summoner and Blue Mage are. The world of FFXI has also generally held more appeal for me than FFXIV's, no annoying scions like Alphinaud constantly pestering me and several unique characters I end up liking per expansion.

Except the forum access requirements actually prove otherwise (you need to not only have an active subscription to the game to login to the forum, you need to have also last logged into FFXIV no more than fourteen days previously to login and post in the forum - it throws up a login error telling you exactly that if you don't.).

Sorry to jump back to that, but I think some people just love to complain, and would even pay money playing a game they clearly hate and know won't change to suit their preferences just to complain about it. *Shrugs* It's their money I guess...

I play this, ESO, and Lost Ark. I dropped EQ, EQ2, Aion, GW2, Black Desert Online, and Tera (before it died entirely) as my interests changed and I needed to make decisions about how I spend my time.

I rotate as I don't think any MMO is going to keep my attention 100% of the time. It's simply impossible for any game outside mobas I guess to keep people's attention 24/7 for a decade.

I think wandering between MMOs, other games that aren't even MMOs, and other life experiences is common. I don't think many people view these as all or nothing decisions and I find the tone of this a bit bizarre.

It's actually pretty normal for people to play multiple MMOs these days. MMOs are no longer the massive time sinks they used to be where if you didn't dedicate every second of your free time to it you'd fall behind with no chance of catching up. I routinely go and jump into ESO for a bit, or WoW and normally do so while still playing FF14. I've even taken breaks, where I've gone to another game for almost two years and came back to FF14. Most of the people I play with play multiple MMOs because, as I said, gone are the days of needing to sink every moment of your life into it and now you can play multiples without sacrificing any kind of progress in them for the most part. At least not progress that can't be made up easily enough.

As for the topic. I've been playing since ARR and I honestly have no issues with how the game is going. There are some things I would change yes, like making V&C Dungeons more worthwhile to keep them active and adding diminishing returns to CC abilities in PvP (Please please please give us diminishing returns. Being kept perma stunned for minutes while you are run over by a wave of players is not fun). But I am enjoying the story and the direction it is going in, and I am glad we have no exploratory zone. That stuff can stay gone as far as I am concerned, though I would welcome back some of the ARR things for Relics like having specific fights for it, or having to do certain things along with grinding out currency. Just no more Eureka or Bozja. Please. No more.
