There doesn't need to be enough content to keep people around 24/7 but a 'major' patch that we waited 4 months for shouldn't last a grand total of 4 hours.

It would be nice to have more content that isn't one and done.

Speaking of story, I bit the bullet and one of the games I have been playing this year has been Genshin Impact and, as of this moment, Honkai Star Rail. Star Rail just came out, and I don't really know what there content cadence will be (although, I suspect it will be similar to Genshin), so I will just bring up Genshin.

Yes, you can have your criticisms of Genshin being gacha, or an anime game, but what I am trying to bring up it's content cadence. It is a largely casual game with little to no.. actually no endgame, but being a story based game it releases story content quite frequently. Main story patches with world expansions, events - with story content, special events with voice acting and cutscenes that feature.. story content, character stories, hangout stories.. The patch scheduling in ffxiv is just too slow. A lot of people playing for story are just replaying everything over and over again through alts. Of course, many of them are doing it because they (somehow) like doing it, but it's pretty sad that people have to wait so long on a so called "story game" for the tiny bit they do get.

IIRC he acted surprised when he received reports about MCH's ping issues during the latest media tour (despite people complaining about this for the entirety of ShB) and how the friendlist could be used for harassment.
A lot of the major QoL features were requested for a very long time, but it's only when the game's reputation was at risk of being damaged by cheating drama that they finally put some some effort to implement them (buff timers, more waymark slots, better CD UI, party icons, show magic and physical damage...)

Eureka and Bozja is absolute hot garbage though. Waiting around afk by the base for nms and engagements is not fun content.

Maybe just maybe if they had listened to those of us who rang the alarm bells back when they announced 4 month delays between patches, pointed out that beast tribes being delayed to .5 patches was unusual, that this relic grind is a joke not to mention the content its attached to, the story in the base game and in the patches is objectively the most controversial one seeing as how we've never had 800 page threads criticizing the story before, dead on arrival Criterion dungeons, the fact that we lost exploratory zones to island sanctuary...

...we'd have a decent expansion instead of one that has caused this much disappointment across all sectors of the playerbase.

No, you misunderstand, we're grateful that people that hate the game continue to support it. It means we'll have content for years to come. You know, content that we enjoy. Enjoy subbing for a house and memeing though lol.
