endwalker sucks. wait 4 months for patch with 3 hr of content but half the content is delayed for 2 months until the .05 patch. not a mmorpg anymore its just a chat room u pay money for.

Meanwhile, In Dragonflight land, they've released a meaty patch last month with 10.07 that had a new end-game content on a zone, new faction for rep grinds, new quests, heritage armor etc and that was supposed to be a minor patch

This is actually embarrassing for FFXIV. Why cant we have new zones (not an exploratory zone because those suck eggs) during post expansion launches? You know, kinda help flesh out the areas such as Garlemald and Thavnair by making them feel bigger and having extra quests, outworld content and dungeons and what not?

If not for the - quite frankly, creepy - cult that has formed around Yoshi-P it would never have been taken seriously. Interestingly, a lot of the people who echo it started the game years later and simply echo it without having been around themselves when it was first spoken.

And it never should have been taken seriously. It was a rather foolish thing for him to say.

I also don't think many people expect to be catered to 24/7 - there just isn't much in the way of content with staying power and depth,

^ This. There doesn't need to be enough content to keep people around 24/7 but a 'major' patch that we waited 4 months for shouldn't last a grand total of 4 hours.

Virtually deifying Yoshi-P memes aside; I've never looked at FFXIV as the kind of game within which I'm required to complete the content. Whether or not I'm in a minority doesn't matter, it's just how I play the game. I only really stick around to complete the story--which, despite opinions, hasn't yet disappointed me. My requirements for a game to be "good" for me are way more relaxed than many people. I'm just here to hang out with virtual friends and run content whenever I feel I'm ready for it. In my eyes the game is just fine for that even if I feel certain things could be improved.

Strongly believe they listen to feedback (listen does not mean always copy/execute, naturally), my post count is a bit absurd but there are so many parallels to something I've wished for and seen at this point I can't believe anything else. Not light stuff either... That said I am also fairly patient and definitely notice there is some time between, which makes sense.

I've also seen other people's feedback represented. Naturally there is some variation from what is desired and delivered, which is good to some elements as they're the ones with the actual skillset to make the game and it is their game on top of that, but due to those changes may occasionally miss the original key of the desire. I feel people saying what they want to see with why can be helpful, usually I just see either one or none lol. On top of that it's not uncommon to see people desire something and then explain what / why and it doesn't really jive... so there is that too.

There is of course the potential they're getting the feedback for something someone wants and just patently disagree, whether that is for right or wrong choice it's something I've seen or at least felt- funnily enough due to the pipe line them listening to feedback but not giving feedback to players can be confused for "working on it but these things take time". "WHY U IGNORING ME" SE: "I'M NOT, UR BREAD IS BAKING, STAPH".

Anyways... I feel they care / listen, just maybe not at the timescale / speed someone is wanting or the idea hasn't convinced them is worth it yet. Still give feedback, and at this point almost exclusively make up my posts, because I feel strongly as such. Though it could certainly be enhanced if we had more back and forth communication, something Theo touched upon. There are somethings I've seen that are suspiciously and auspiciously similar to something I saw someone, or myself, wish for... a year or seven ago and it's like.. *snaps fingers* I recognize that lol.

There are some things that I feel that people have been clamoring for years that have yet to be delivered but for the most part they do listen to feedback. Whether it be engine issues, or lack of talent in coding (they seriously need to hire better talent for this as I feel a lot of issues are completely possible) or they're busy with their own work schedules in other parts of this game etc. We just dont know what's going on behind closed doors to fairly make judgements but its certainly the easiest thing to do, as people like R041 or AwesomeJr or me have been doing.

Its all very tiring, and it'll continue to be tiring for both sides case. We need better communication on the NA side or heck since somebody pointed out how the JPN playerbase actually feels like they listen to the NA side more this just means they've been very lax with player communication. The only form we ever see is with LLs and thats not good enough.

It doesn't help that the JP fans can actually be WORSE than the fans in the west. The dev team have gotten actual death threats and harassment from players in Japan. They may have reached a point to where they feel it's safer for them to not say a damned thing.

Same...I like the game a lot but here it feels like a crime. People jump on you to basically say that the way they want the game is the only course the game should have and if you enjoy it or have a different playstyle you are responsible for the death of it. If you don`t care to live 24/7 in it with endless content you`re wrong from the start which is quite an extreme take, reading the thread made me realise people seem to forget there`s more than one type of player and I don`t blame them, people will always focus only on themselves and their wants, but the way they voice their opinions when someone else says they are happy with what they have makes it hard to want to interact and reach a middle ground without massive misunderstandings or needless fights.

Do I have issues with the game or the story itself? PLENTY.
I absolutely hate what they did to Graha, I don't like the overly cutesy approach most of the time, I am massively disappointed in how they created the male Viera as it has nothing with what I and plenty others expected, the lack of customization, the fact that we are still waiting for goddamned hats, housing is an absolute disaster, no I am not a fan of venues nor do I think ffxiv should be known for that as "content", endwalker was mediocre compared to shadowbringers, Yshtola is getting on my nerves, I think the scions need way more depth etc etc but the fact that I don't ONLY crap on the game is clearly wrong.

Another thing is that while I hate these aspects, others love them and that`s something I have to make my peace with, nobody will ever only like or want what you like and want, its normal. Example: according to my wants, nobody would like to play bunny bois, yet they are freaking everywhere whenever I log in, so yeah I`m still bitter they didn`t craft them the way plenty of us hoped but instead I try to be happy for those that I see around being happy they are the opposite of what I wanted.

If I ONLY hated the game I would not be here paying a subscription to still play it. Once the game only disappoints me I`ll move on, but until then I will focus on both positives and negatives and as soon as the game makes me feel worse than it does good I'm gone because all these years I saw we can shout as loud as we want, they will still do whatever they want and the only thing I`ll do is waste my energy.

That doesn't tell me that the devs are reading feedback and disagreeing with it, that tells me that they are ignoring it outright. The devs seem very out of touch when things like that happen.

I believe some feedback is delivered to the department rather than all of it going to Yoshida, it was part of an answer I asked a LONG time ago.
