I'd be a lot more trusting of SE's feedback processes if they showed signs of actually listening to feedback. Yoshi having a shocked or surprised reaction when given feedback that's been available for years isn't a good look. That doesn't tell me that the devs are reading feedback and disagreeing with it, that tells me that they are ignoring it outright. The devs seem very out of touch when things like that happen.



Agreed. There definitely needs to be more open communication between the devs and the playerbase.

There doesn't need to be enough content to keep people around 24/7 but a 'major' patch that we waited 4 months for shouldn't last a grand total of 4 hours.

Speaking of story, I bit the bullet and one of the games I have been playing this year has been Genshin Impact and, as of this moment, Honkai Star Rail. Star Rail just came out, and I don't really know what there content cadence will be (although, I suspect it will be similar to Genshin), so I will just bring up Genshin.

Yes, you can have your criticisms of Genshin being gacha, or an anime game, but what I am trying to bring up it's content cadence. It is a largely casual game with little to no.. actually no endgame, but being a story based game it releases story content quite frequently. Main story patches with world expansions, events - with story content, special events with voice acting and cutscenes that feature.. story content, character stories, hangout stories.. The patch scheduling in ffxiv is just too slow. A lot of people playing for story are just replaying everything over and over again through alts. Of course, many of them are doing it because they (somehow) like doing it, but it's pretty sad that people have to wait so long on a so called "story game" for the tiny bit they do get.
