Anyway, as I said on another thread: Character death for the sake of itself means nothing. Stakes are created through conflict, which can mean many things, and you people need to stop being so obsessed over this ONE plot device and understand there's more to conflict than "oh no they died".

Then again, it's Wood Guy, so I don't know what I was expecting.

I said this in another thread: The Scions are fine, but they're done with their conflicts/growth, so of course they can feel stale now, much more if someone doesn't enjoy their personality at a base level. I've been saying I want new characters for 7.0 for this reason, but this has nothing to do with character death as a cheap plot device.
You could argue they already went the cheap route with Horsefart. The issue with the Scions is that they kept killing them off only to immediately bring them back, not that they need to die to be interesting. It's because of the fake-outs that an actual death would be "refreshing," and it probably would've been better for them to just not face near-death experiences at all.
