I recently left my character afk for about a day in ul dah, about a day in kugane, about a day in crystarium, and about a day in old shar(each one was 18+ hours and included part or all of primetime while i was at work). Each of those days i scrolled the chat back when i picked it up to play a bit. I saw a handful of FC spam messages(0-3 per day), a few dozen hunt train/S rank/special fate call outs, and exactly 0 club advertisements/erp invitations/whatever else youre complaining about. I check the party finder once or twice most nights i play. It is very easy to ignore the "other" tab, and even if i DO skim it my eyes gloss over and i dont even notice the club adverts.
So, how do i feel about this thing? Um... nothing? Good for those people, enjoy the game. Doesnt affect me even a little bit. Non-issue.
ESRB is for guidance when purchasing the game and it’s an American thing only. It has no relevance outside of that context.
What matters is that the game is sold in a multitude of countries and is advertised as being for players 13 years and older. The ToS, which is a binding agreement, also mention the age of 13 and contain specific provisions about player interactions. Different countries have different laws as to what a 13 yr old can be exposed. This is what defines both SE and players obligations and responsibilities when it comes to in game online interactions.
Anyway, I have zero interest in ERP.

It's gross, but people should be allowed to do what they want as long as it's not hurting someone else. It's just gross how popular it is in this game.
This is for actual emote and motions, not for ERP, ERP goes on in party chat and is done in roleplay, so that doesnt apply. (The ToS part)Go read the ToS instead of spewing BS and ignorance. Here’s an excerpt (and there more about it in the ToS):
ESRB is totally irrelevant outside of the US. On the other hand, my country has laws against child pornography which includes text without graphics and laws about adults having online sexual interactions with minors.

1) You posted EULA, not TOS.Go read the ToS instead of spewing BS and ignorance. Here’s an excerpt (and there more about it in the ToS):

2) Who was talking about sex with minors? Holy shit. Do you imagine all those horny people there wants to press against lalafells? You have some weird fantasies for sure.
3) Nobody cares about your country lol
While the ESRB is a US group, other countries have similar groups. They all sort of fall under the IARC, although different countries mostly stick with their own systems.
This reminds me of the other thread that was about venues and the ERP that goes on there "we should ban all erp because there are a tiny tiny minority of people doing it with minors"
First of all, how do you know the person is a minor or not, in this day and age, you cant even ask someone's gender or someone's age without being cancelled.
Do you ask them for ID ? (which can be faked and is also messed up to ask for)
Do you ask them textually ? (which they can lie about)
A not-so-subtle use of a search engine using the term 'egasm' provides several sites that define urban/slang terms, references to a music group on youtube, and ... absolutely no references to FFXIV, at least on the first 10 pages or so. Add 'FFXIV' to the terms and it finds ... your use of the term in this thread. And nothing else.
Oddly enough, the terms 'egasm' or 'erp' do not appear anywhere in the articles linked by you.
The first reference is a slighly gushing overview of the Club Scene. It talked about the appeal of such clubs, how people went about creating them and a bit about how they worked through issues between players. For context, it was written about a year ago, and didn't mention FFXIV being 'taken over' by anything.
The second reference is a listing of venues. You can select terms like "Aether", "Shows and Performances" and come up with dates and times for a venue. One I checked indicated "We are an open stage and AFK lounge, feel free to stop by and relax". The fact that venues have an out-of-game place to advertise is .. expected?
The third reference is a "what is" introduction. Sensible rules and etiquette (dismiss minions is a big one), interesting enough. It's not, however, a "how to" guide to obtain an egasm.
Must have been a boring evening, eh?
You're strangely hung up on the semantics of something I said I used to get around filters. You know what it means, and I didn't post articles about cyber*** for a reason.A not-so-subtle use of a search engine using the term 'egasm' provides several sites that define urban/slang terms, references to a music group on youtube, and ... absolutely no references to FFXIV, at least on the first 10 pages or so. If you're not in the know, that's okay.
