ESRB always (including for FFXIV) explicitly states it does not rate "Online Interactions". The T rating is for the content of the game itself, not whatever nonsense other players spew at each other.

I barely notice people shouting about them in the cities, and that's literally the extent of their existence for me as I don't typically spend my time wandering into other people's houses.

Because of this, "Taken Over" seems like quite a reach to me.
