I want to thank this thread for highlighting the shittiest people on the forum. OP, I'm sorry about your house, and hopefully SE implements an in game notification. Ignore the Karens, and good luck in the lotto!

"Player didnt use their house, and their house got auto demo'd"
oh no anyways, why should anyone care again ? There is a line of hundreds to get houses, that might make better use of it than them, so why are we shitty people for calling that out ? I'm all ears
Not seeing any Karens in this thread so not sure why you're throwing that word around.
SE has already implemented an in-game notification. They also send out of game notifications. More notifications won't solve the problem when a player is ignoring the ones that already exist.
The easiest way to avoid losing a house is to use it at some point when you're online. Once a month is enough. Is that really asking so much?
I see many pushy, entitled people in this thread. Telling OP they don't deserve their house, and that OP shouldn't be complaining. What's a group of Karens? An HOA. This forum isn't an HOA though, and this thread wasn't asking people to dogpile OP. It was a suggestion based on OP's experience.
The only notification in game that your house is going to demo is under a person's timer tab. How often do you go to your timer tab? Even the lottery has notification when you login that allows you to click it to take you to the timer tab. How hard is it to add a simple feature that might be a little red tab for demolishing? Seeing so many people against such a small, but useful feature for many others is wild.
Out of game notifications are a joke. 1. They're sent in waves, and people sometimes will get a notification a couple days after entering their house. Sometimes they get their notification after their house has demolished. 2. Many notifications go to people's junk mail. They'll receive every other SE email, but for some odd reason those notifications go to spam/junk. How often do you check your junk mail? 3. Sometimes people don't get a notification at all. As a side note, those email notifications aren't worded very well either. I've seen a few people who think "accessing" you estate means checking your garden or entering your plot. The email doesn't specifically say enter your house, nor does your timers tab.
If people are logging in, and for some reason are not getting their email notifications, then this small qol feature would be a nice. Maybe they're logging into raid, maybe they're in their gardens, and this would be great for them.
I'll give you a tiny tiny little hint, it's actually a crazy one, just hear me outI see many pushy, entitled people in this thread. If you use your house, it wont ever get into auto demo state and you wont ever have to worry about it auto demolishing
It's crazy I know, and if you dont see the auto demo timer in the timers tab, and you dont read your emails, and you also dont go in your house over 45 days, perhaps you dont care enough about the house to begin with.
No thank you for more notifications, this is literally filtering people not using their houses, and it's perfect, it does its purpose, there are enough people waiting in hundreds of bids for a house, there is no need to have a house if you dont use it.

So let me get this straight it's Square Enix fault for the OP not checking the timer tab where you can see pretty much everything time-based in the game.I see many pushy, entitled people in this thread. Ok
You know what would be easier than multiple warnings? You know... OP actually... using... the house?
I'm sorry but people like you and OP get no sympathy from me. In my honest opinion they already do a lot by sending emails. Inactive houses should be relocated to other players.

I'm not saying this at all. It is 100% OP's fault for losing the house, and an inactive house should go back on the market. I'm agreeing with OP about there being many flaws in the system, and that a notification like the lottery collection notification wouldn't be a terrible idea. People rarely visit their timers tab, and some don't know it exists. It would also help if SE was more clear in their wording about people entering their house, instead of just engaging with their yard. Life happens, and SE's email notification leaves a lot to be desired as I pointed out in my earlier post.So let me get this straight it's Square Enix fault for the OP not checking the timer tab where you can see pretty much everything time-based in the game.

I don't think OP was looking for sympathy, and they were only posting a suggestion like many other people. What is wild is the number of unconstructive comments telling OP they don't "deserve" their house.
On that note, I'm not looking for sympathy either. I've been in housing for over 7 years, and have never lost a house to demo. I have over 100 houses, and use a spreadsheet to keep track of workshops and when I last entered my homes. That doesn't mean I don't sympathize with people who are more casual about housing.

The point is that there is no need for more notifications because it's fine as it is.I'm not saying this at all. People not using their houses got their house auto demo'd, working as intended. There is no need for a bright red flashing message "YOUR HOUSE IS ABOUT TO GET DEMO'D, TELEPORT NOW !!".
If you use the house, you'll keep it, if you dont, you wont, period. As it should be.
And it's a suggestion that many of us feel is unnecessary because of the other notifications already offered. Hundreds of thousands of players have no problem keeping their house. Why does SE need to change things for the 0.0002% that can't seem to remember they own one?
SE is the one who set the policy of enter it once every forty-five days or forfeit the house. They have set the standard for who deserves one and who doesn't.
Do I want a system where demolition isn't even necessary so this entire discussion would be pointless? Definitely, but until such time as we get such a system I've got no sympathy for those who buy into the system then don't maintain use of it. As several of us have repeated in this thread, if players are using their house then the notifications are not necessary.
As for players who don't bother to check their timers, that's their choice. I will check mine several times a week. About the only timers listed that I ignore are the ones for Leve allowances and Ehcatl Nine deliveries. They're extremely helpful when it comes to keeping track of what's been done if you have more than one character.
