Can we get an in-game notice for Auto-demolition

If players buy up an already scarce resource to not even use it... then they are problem. It is a touch hypocritical and tone deaf.

The OP literally said they use it. I myself have been half on break from the game and only logging on for raids. My house is still decorated, when I afk somewhere it's in my garden. I still use the house and they presumably would once they get more into the game again will also use the house more.

God forbid you detach a bit from the game. I really dislike this in general with housing, but at least I can relax a bit for a while again with auto demo off.

Ultimately they are responsible for losing their house, if they cared more they would have walked in like I have been doing for mine since I got it years ago. But it's understandable for them to be upset and wish the notification was more visible in game for something so hard to reacquire. Tbh this thread just reads like some jealous jerks enjoying someone else losing something they don't have. Like, "Because blaming SE is a waste of textspace and your personal time"...what? It literally is their fault, not the players, that other people do not have their dream plot. It does not give the green light to instead be nasty to someone asking for something so innocuous as a pop up notification in game.

One of my static members has 2 medium houses, he decorated the gardens and neither one has the interior decorated. One he has had near 2 years, the other more recently gained. Another friend has a small house, garden not really touched but the inside has all the trophies from extremes etc. People use their houses in different ways, if all they want to do is sit and feel smug at having one for a minute they paid the sub to do it. You might not like it but they have as much right to the house as anyone else. Take it up with SE for not having better instanced housing options or wards with more mediums/larges etc.

Or just maybe most of us actually use our houses actively instead of ignoring them for more than 6 weeks. We have friends and acquaintances still trying to get a house while others who have houses ignore theirs, just as the OP did.

Regardless of what we feel about the current housing system design, we must deal with what it is until SE decides to change things. Responsibility comes with house ownership in this game, and it's a very minor form of responsibility at that. Walk inside and interact with the interior once every 45 days.

If someone finds that too heavy a responsibility, they are better off with an apartment that they can ignore to their heart's content.

Do I want to see the system change so incidents like the OPs no longer happen? Yes. Am I going to have sympathy for the OP when they were online and playing the game for that 45 day period and couldn't once visit their house? No. Everyone else with a house manages to get inside at least once every 45 days regardless of how much they do or don't play. It's not unreasonable to expect the OP to do the same if they want a house.

I support the in game notification of a pending house demolition. Not everyone is set up to receive SE emails for whatever reason given it is something people need to opt into if I'm not mistaken and may not even be aware they aren't or won't be receiving them.

I doubt it would be a very hard thing for SE to code and would only affect those about to lose a house.

You don't have to opt in or out to get the demolition emails afaik. I think you're talking about newsletters which is a different thing.

You get notifications in-game, while it can be seen as a QOL, I don't think it's on SE to handhold us on it when it's available both in chat and the timers menu.

If you don't enter your house every 44 days, why do you even have one?

No, because then people like OP never visiting their houses at all would go to it to cancel it, and it would remove the point of auto demo.

It's fine as it is, people using their house keep their house, people not using their house lose it. There is scarcity, it has to happen.

I don't care if you don't support it I do. Would be a nice qol in my opinion with something as important as losing a house. People do get notified by email so an in game notification would be a welcome addition as well.

I suppose they should stop email notifications as well to satisfy the take it away crowd. SE's intent is to LET PEOPLE KNOW the house is about to be demolished and this is just another way of letting them know.

Then they might as well just remove auto demo all together, because those never using their houses will get a warning and will go to their house, and then never use it again until the next auto demo warning.

No not really. Personally I think a paying sub is all that should be needed. I think the intent was to recoup houses for those who quit the game. You can't even through away a piece of unique gear without a pop up asking if it's ok and have to click a check box before you can. A pop up warning for the loss of a house is something that should have been there from the start and adding it shouldn't be all that difficult in my view.

You can push your opinion of what YOU would like to see but you're not the dev team and all opinions are welcome in threads like this one.

Going to be a slew of housing with the new DC when it's added in the EU. Wondering if that it truly needed now with the wow implosion over and many who have moved on to other games. Will be interesting to see how that DC fills up. I was thinking we might see the 4 new Dynamis servers with 6.38 but perhaps those are coming with 6.4.

Also need to wonder if SE is going to do anything about Materia or just lest it fester with low pop until then.

There will certainly be room for growth when the new xpac hits next year.
