Gotta love people ganging up and harassing a player upset for losing a hard to get resource vs blaming SE for enforcing artificial scarcity.

I think the issue is likely the player is proposing a solution for a problem that most folks "wish" they had. There are a lot of people who take a house for no other reason then to possess the plot; as it seems to be the case with this player - thus they are a obstacle in the path of players that would legitimately like to have property to actually use it. I mean imagine if someone that owns like 8 FCs made a post "Can we have a way to upkeep all houses with only logging in 1 character?" that would make a literal bloodbath.
I know how to turn off/on various componants in the chat settings. But there is a way to turn off all the chaotic pop up screens when you first load in?!?! You are a savoir and I am an idiot XD

These settings at the bottom let you turn off most of the pop-ups when you log in.
Because blaming SE is a waste of textspace and your personal time. They've known about issues for the past half a decade and continue to move forward with their wards, showcasing that either unlimited supply is impossible in their backend (or will just take an insanely long time to do an unlimited version), or the wards are the only housing system they want to do. Blaming them now isn't going to do anything besides make you waste the energy it takes to write up your response.
Comparatively, the OP is asking for an in-game notice for auto-demolition when there is already one in-game that they admit they never check, and one out of game that they also admitted they never check the email associated with the account either. Very few are going to have sympathy for someone unable to take 2s to check the timers section every now and then (or you know, just go into the house randomly every now and again), especially since its such a rare resource that you'd think someone would take more effort & care into making sure they keep a hold of.
Could it be made more visible in-game? Sure. but again, if someone isn't going to take the 2s it takes to check the timers section or maybe think to themselves 'hmm, I haven't been in my house in a week, let's just take <1min to go to the house and go inside again, they shouldn't really expect people to be sympathetic.

They lost it through their own inaction. They need to learn to accept responsibility for their actions (or inaction in this case) instead of trying to pass the blame elsewhere.
Yes, the artificial scarcity is a problem but SE has been making some headway on the problem since 5.1.
Prior to 5.1 - 4320 houses per world
as of 5.1 - 5040 houses per world
as of 5.35 - 5760 houses per world
as of 6.1 - 7200 houses per world
as of 6.3 - 9000 houses per world (7200 houses accessible on the 13 worlds with a New status)
Technically, they're getting close to enough houses now. The number of entries we're seeing for non-prime plots (prime plots get a large number of entries for relocation, not just new purchase) on the crowded worlds isn't that much higher than the number of plots still available in the personal/mixed wards on the New worlds.
There are two problems left. The first problem is the distribution of available plots isn't matching the distribution of demand. That is something that can be solved at the player level - choose to transfer to a world in the same region with available plots then use data center travel to continue to play with friends.
The second problem is the distribution of plot sizes doesn't match the demand for the sizes. That is something that only SE can address and it's going to be tough to do as long as they stick to a 20/7/3 ward system. Instanced housing, on the other hand, would make it quite simple. Players could just pick what they want and with it being instanced, it doesn't prevent any or all players from getting the same thing. Everyone wants a LB 11/41 or Mist 5/35 style location? Could be done with an instanced housing system.
To be entirely fair, a bit out of subject but this COULD be an idea, after the release of new wards, give 1 round or two to ONLY the people without a house, and then open it to everyone else and open fc housing in fc only wards, that way at least 80% of bids wont be relocations while others are fighting to even get anything at all. They lost it through their own inaction. They need to learn to accept responsibility for their actions (or inaction in this case) instead of trying to pass the blame elsewhere.

However the problem is that people will just pile up on popular plots like LB41 instead of spreading out, that's why it's a bit doomed by design really. : /
it took me 17 times to get a house lol and i just dumped a hell of a lott gilnim it wanted the best stuff in the game
