I think it's pretty weird that we don't get any in-game notice upon logging in if our houses are under risk of auto-demolishing soon. Having e-mail be the only notice is unreliable as I bet a lot of people use a secondary email address for games and either don't check it regularly or gets flooded over by all of the spam gaming sites send you.

It's also strange to me that you have to actually go inside your house to reset the timer, a log-in should suffice.

tldr; My house got auto-demo'd even though I've been logging in every week, can we get an in-game notice so it doesn't happen again.
You don't even use the house, why do you need it ? I am not trying to be mean or offensive, but if you dont go in your house over 45 days, I'm not really sure why you need a house in the first place.

In this particular case, auto demo did its job, it removed an inactive house user ,as it should have, that's what the system is for.

I do use it when I'm actively playing the game outside of just raiding, I've been raid-logging due to needing to focus on other IRL things. While I will concede that not having been in it for 45 days is quite a stretch of time, I still do find it strange that you are not notified of it in any way inside the game.

You receive an email and its also in the timers when the house is 2 weeks away from demolition, and it goes down to 0 and then auto demo's.

Also you are still not using the house for almost 2 entire months, as I said, auto demo did its job, there is housing scarcity so people not using their houses at all should lose it, no matter their circumstances.

The most likely place an additional message would be added would be to the system greeting that displays when we log onto our characters or change worlds. Do you pay attention to it every time it appears?

Same question for the other system messages that will sometimes appear throughout log in (such as a Community team stream starting).

Get spammed with too many notices that are meaningless most of the time and we learn to ignore them. That leads to ignoring the rare important message. Then players would just get upset that SE didn't post the notice differently.

SE can't help it if you refuse to check the places they use to communicate housing specific messages. There is a point you need to learn to take responsibility for staying on top of what is important to you.

You probably should also get in the habit of checking your gaming specific email account. It's a safety measure that can give you a heads up about possible account breaches and attempts to breach so you know to change your passwords or contact the gaming company to begin recovery. No matter how careful we are, things can happen outside of our control.

The problem on that part is that the game spams way too many windows and messages that are completely obsolete. I dont need to know the recommendations of quests, i dont want to visit the help page. So either its ignore or click away as automatic behaviour. This sort of clutter needs to be gone. Not just shifting its location, it shouldnt show at all.

However, in all cases i did notice the housing lottery message, because of its proper location (and because i made sure other notifications wouldnt collide). This would be an excelent warning location for housing. If all clutter is gone, and this is the only message, then you can truly said its their own fault. Anyone who truly cares about the house will regularly use it (even if its just to access retainers and not interacting any futher). They will make sure to reset the timer.

As it was a house that wasnt used, i dont see any sad losses here. Sounds like proper demolition.

You do know that in settings, you can stop the recommendations and help page from popping up right? Same with chat logs. If you don't want to see the messages that I've just synthesised an iron ingot, you can filter that.

I know how to turn off/on various componants in the chat settings. But there is a way to turn off all the chaotic pop up screens when you first load in?!?! You are a savoir and I am an idiot XD

These settings at the bottom let you turn off most of the pop-ups when you log in.

Because blaming SE is a waste of textspace and your personal time. They've known about issues for the past half a decade and continue to move forward with their wards, showcasing that either unlimited supply is impossible in their backend (or will just take an insanely long time to do an unlimited version), or the wards are the only housing system they want to do. Blaming them now isn't going to do anything besides make you waste the energy it takes to write up your response.

Comparatively, the OP is asking for an in-game notice for auto-demolition when there is already one in-game that they admit they never check, and one out of game that they also admitted they never check the email associated with the account either. Very few are going to have sympathy for someone unable to take 2s to check the timers section every now and then (or you know, just go into the house randomly every now and again), especially since its such a rare resource that you'd think someone would take more effort & care into making sure they keep a hold of.

Could it be made more visible in-game? Sure. but again, if someone isn't going to take the 2s it takes to check the timers section or maybe think to themselves 'hmm, I haven't been in my house in a week, let's just take <1min to go to the house and go inside again, they shouldn't really expect people to be sympathetic.

For bragging rights I guess? Seems odd to me too.

Why is the assumption so negative? If you are not playing that actively as they said but still use the house otherwise it makes sense they want to keep it because they actually want to use it later. Not like you can snap your fingers and get another one just like that. A notification in game would be nice, as in an actual pop up to warn you that you click to confirm. And I have kept my house since 2019 with many extended breaks. I still use the house so I will keep the house and the others I got till I quit the game entirely or the servers shut down.
