You are posting in a thread that functionally amounts to that. Right here, right now.

It feels like the goal post shifted a bit here as well as it's no longer about the UI becoming clunky. But I am explicitly interested in improving the UI more than winning any argument and you highlighted exactly the problem that I have with the UI, and one possible solution for it.

1. On one hand you have a three tier warning message and a catastrophe in which the process is this:
- Hey you have 3 slots left
- Hey you have 2 slots left
- Hey you have 1 slot left
- Oh hey, too bad

I will mention that the text in red is also really easy to ignore. For which reasons I cannot say but I definitely don't pay too much attention to them even though I haven't been a huge victim of this issue.

2. On the other hand we have another system that eradicates all those warning messages and solves the catastrophe which is this:
- Oh hey your inventory is full do you want to discard an item from your inventory or lose it?

To me it's clear a solution is one single method that eliminates all the warning messages and avoids the tragedy of ignoring them in one fell swoop. Not only is it more efficient but it is more proactive in solving the problem rather than merely warning against it.

Can you, and ignoring who is making this post, for all it matters it is some stranger out there who anonymously left these two proposed systems in your desk for review, in good conscience say that the first system is better than the second?

That is why I support the OP and acknowledge there is a better way to do this and it should get looked into, regardless of what tools we have in place. If it was so effective a customer wouldn't have gone through the trouble of posting in the forums and going as far as attaching a screenshot to it. There is literally no reason this couldn't be improved.
