The last time I had a duty disband due to constant wipes was barbariccia and in that case before we all left I told the first timer to just come join me after and I would give them healer queue since again it was healers failing. I added them to my party and we went and got the clear for them ezpz. If you ever run into the same situation I would just do what I did and offer to queue with them. And maybe next time kick the troll faster too. At least you can move on quicker.I'm writing this because I've always heard about it, but it never happened to me until now. I was doing roulettes, the level 50-60-70-80 dungeons and we get Grand Cosmos. I'm leveling dragoon and in the team we have a level 90 gunbreaker, level 90 astrologian and a 81 level sprout dancer doing this to proceed with MSQ. We reach the final boss all good, and then the astrologian for some reason refuses to engage with any mechanic of the boss. We wipe 3 times in a row because he died instantly and couldn't heal the tank and us from the AOE's and the fires.
I and the gunbreaker explained all the mechanics to him, he said "Ok" and dies immediately again on next pull. I check his search info to see if he is a new player and I notice he has 3 classes levelled to level 90 and multiple others at various levels ranging 60-80.
I believe he was trolling, the sprout understood the mechanics from the first pull because we told him pre-pull, but a level 90 player with multiple classes can't do a single one? We wiped 5+ times in a row because he couldn't survive the first one and because we had no Warrior the tank couldn't heal me or himself to solo.
What are you supposed to do in this case? We vote kicked him after 6 wipes in a row and because he is a healer we waited so long to get a new one that we decided to just abandon duty all together. I just felt sad for the sprout dps that had to wait again in queue because some person just couldn't be bothered to engage with the mechanics. I was afraid to even say anything to him aside from explaining mechanics because I knew I would get reported for being "toxic".
It's freaking wild to me the lengths people in this game will go to defend griefers. Like, it truly baffles me, why does their logic just suddenly fly out the window the moment someone is confronted for griefing? You'd think they'd be more adamant about someone not wasting everyone's time, but nope let's risk breaking TOS ourselves by getting hostile with the person who calls out the griefer.Cause didn't you know they're new? /s
But seriously, yeah, this is the only game I've played where max levels can not know a single thing about their class or even just how combat works and still get defended to high hell by others.
I have seen the excuse of "chill, they're new" in a level 90 dungeon because it was the person's first time doing the dungeon. Oh, my bad, I wasn't aware that not knowing the mechs of a duty means you don't have to know how to AoE at 90.
Next time I'll just press 1-2-3 single attacks on trash pulls while watching anime on my 2nd monitor, well it's just a slight inconvenience for the others when we take 40 minutes to clear something that normally takes 15-20 min. Also look at my posts, I've never interacted with this forum before, I only have experience with the subreddit where everyone is encouraging people to play without job stones or single pull in late game because "they don't pay your sub sweetheart".

Honest, how do you know they were griefing? I can think of a few situations that have happened to me in my MMO playing time when someone is bad. Drunk/high, tired, emotional issue, actual fire and trying to play, children issue. So back in the day when your name mattered if you were going to get a group I got apologies for all the listed and they shouldn't have tried to play. Now you never know since your name doesn't matter.
But trolls are few and far between and I am more likely to believe issues. Also any troll I have had the pleasure of likes to say stuff. Unless you consider any inconvenience grief, which I guess it could be. Then people shouldn't que for stuff unless 100% committed.
What is wild to be are posts like these that go to such length to project non-existence issue. Show me a post where people defend griefers? What you see as people "defending" most of the time are just the calmer head saying "stop freaking out, hyperbolic, overdramatize and making mountain out of mole hill". It's like the saying "don't just assume nefarious intend when it could be just incompetent".
I mean we NEED healers in order to queue but actually using healing skills in todays dungeons are a waste, in fact I get more excited when something like Tam Tara pops because I'll actually have to use my healing skills as opposed to something like a lvl 90 dungeon because every tank has self healing out the ass and even if a mechanic does forced damage to dps they can just heal themselves to full in no time. So I just spam my two meager dps abilities. Idk how people main healers outside of Ults and Savages because this shit is boring as hell.
It sounds like you did everything possible. There's nothing said from what you've posted that they were doing it on purpose. It is possible there could have been something going on IRL or something they didn't understand. Or they could have been trolling. But it sounds like removing the element that just wasn't working in this case was the right call. The rest of you did everything you could to try to make it work.
Just to note, GNB can heal others with Aurora and we can put our 30 second mit on others, plus in a pinch we can 1-2 spam to baby heal ourselves to stay alive until Aurora is up or mit is ready again. It's not pretty but it can get a team through things. A bit easier if you have dps who can help at all with healing. I had to do exactly that on that boss before with a new healer who just wasn't getting things after we had wiped a few times. The two dps and I decided to just bring it home on the final stretch. Not war levels of self-sustain, but it's possible.
