Just think of it from new gamers point - it's frustrating for those already high levels but from new gamers point of view looking at 2.0 being the start then these achievements are not as bad as what we think.

Just sucks more for all current players.

Actually, if you want to make that argument, people who started DoH/DoL after achievements were released have an advantage over those that started before. Those that started after don't get their achievement progress wiped (however much that may be) while those that started before have had to completely restart the achievements from scratch.

Any way you slice it, it's very frustrating to have previous effort be nullified when it comes to working toward long term goals. That, at least, everyone should be able to agree on, regardless of your stance on this.

there is only 1 fact in all of this, we ALL started at 0 progress after the patch came into effect, noone is redoing any achievment, no one had credit for the achievemnt ahead of time

yes some people can earn it AS THEY LEVEL, but that is by far not an advantage at all, thats just something they get to do on the side

lets also add into the equation that people who were 50 ahead of time can easily hasty hands there way to the achievments several times faster then someone leveling while doing it

but in the end, the pure fact is, we all started from scratch after the achievemnts came into effect

Lets take do X battle leve's and X behests and such in low level areas, anyone that has leveled byond that isn't going to get much gold, the exp doesn't benefit them, where as someone at level 1 is getting the exp and gold they need. Same with gathering and crafting they are getting exp along with increasing their achievements. for me I'm going to be getting the achivements and costing me time/money without the extra stuff they get.

It's a minor point though just something to think about. They need to do it and achievements is secondary.

PS. Oh and quick point :> Believe me back in the days leveling up gathering was much harder then it is now, the exp bonuses from leve's gathering is half if not less then what it is now.

getting experience IS NOT an advantage

also as i said earlier, people can now level from 41-50 in less then 500 synths, you need 3000 for the achievment.....so they have to level to 50 then do 2500 or so more synths

you on the other hands, can choose a 41 synth and hasty hands it and be done that quick




starting from 0 is starting from 0 still, getting exp is not an advantage, its just something that you get in addition, something we dont have to worry about as 50s already, and thus we dont have to worry about what we synth(see level 41 easy synths instead of 50+ synths for exp)

People who started after achievements came into affect can wait until they hit 50 and then go back and Hasty Hand achievements too... It's not like they don't have the same options as people that started pre-achievements. They still have the advantage of not getting their achievement progress wiped like earlier players did.

1) Do the achievment and get your tool
2) dont do it, and dont get your tool

You are upset, you want the tool, but you see how much work itl take, and yes, its alot of work, i know, i have 5 done already and 3 close to be done but guess what, if you want it, you will do it, cuz there is nothing that will be done to compensate you for this imaginary "wipe" they did that you people keep claiming has happened(in order for info to be wiped it had to exist to begin with, which it didnt)

Don't get me wrong, I'm also doing the achievements. If I want Luminary items, that's my only option. This discussion won't change that.

Your argument is silly, though. No progress wipe, seriously? If I did, I don't know, 3,000 synths on Alchemist pre-achievements, those synths don't count whatsoever toward the achievements. So yes, in this case I would have to start back at square one to regain that 3,000 synth progress before I can continue toward the achievements where I left off. You're fooling yourself if you think that no progess was lost at all regarding this tally.

I think the achievements are very fair, aside from the get 100,000,000 gil off of NPC kills or whatever the fuck it is. Seriously what the hell. I can't even think of an immediate NPC that drops gil.
