I like how Guild Wars 2 made their Thief's Steal ability steal an "item" from the target the thief could then use as a weapon or ability and different races/species and enemies had different items you could steal. 。゚✶ฺ.ヽ(*´∀`*)ノ.✶゚ฺ。Gameplay-wise, though, I assume THF would have been just as combo-oriented and backstabby as NIN. Never say never, of course, but at least from that perspective, I understand why the devs had to pick only one or the other. I just wish it had been THF, if only for the fantasy.
