If you want maximum potency, you need to risk yourself like melee too.

I mean DNC range attack only 15y and their damage still low as other ranged at frontline... And also melee's max ranged attack is 20y.

I also find RW's DR is way more balanced than Frontline IMO...

They are support, if you want damage, go for machinist
Also, DR in Rival Wing only works because there is Mecha
That DR in 72 men Fronline will only extinct melee

I mean you said if people want maximum potency they have to risk themselves like melees, but DNC's kit itself requires short distance to do a damage (Saber Dance and Honing Dance) and the support (Fan Dance 3 and Contradance). Also BRD and MCH are way more support than DNC alongside with how long their shoot distance are.

First of all, the BRD is also a support, and I am not sure why a lot of these BRDs thinks they are not.
Final Fantasia, The Warden's Paean, and Salient Nocturne are self-explanatory and how many Bards actually maximized these potential.

Machinist was the sole culprit of this damage reduction; the very main reason why all ranges/casters getting shackled.
It is an all around damage dealer with great crowd control

Rival Wing DR is a joke and it is only viable because of Mecha.
Ranges/casters can not trigger happy in front of Mecha, that is all.
If a Monk can 5 GCDs a PLD in Rival Wing, that damage reduction system is a failure.
How are they going to survive against a group of casters/rangers in 72 men Frontline enrolment?

What was the reason of damage reduction boost to 60%?
Oh right, it is the Summoner got too much in their arsenals.

If you want to reduce 60% back to 50%, the trade off is range/caster need a potency reduction to balance out.

Is it too difficult for you to find your 15 yard sweet spot?

RW DR is amazing, the ttk is much lower.
