No, it isn't reasonable at all. You seemed to have conveniently missed the part where it was OPTIONAL. How in the world is this "intruding on your enjoyment" when you literally don't have to buy it? You don't even have to look at at.

It's almost like thinking this way is completely irrational.

This is the main strawman that pisses off people in the lalafell community. It's not irrational, it's with an implication of experience that most people aren't aware of. Primarily that people inside of the rp and gpose community use things such as that chair as proof to treat them as children despite being a race that the developers of the game say to not treat as children, that are not even supposed to look like humans according to Yoshi-P himself.

Just to give a list of things I've seen related to lalafell/pedophile accusations:

- twitter posts of people with thousands of followers saying to block nsfw lalafells, spam report their twitter profile, and witch hunt anyone else that's related to/friends with them to basically exile them and their followers. (ask if you want links, as I was flooded with these about 2-3 months ago as it's mainly a gpose community behavior)

- accusations of calling me a pedophile

- ^ also related to this was mass-banning from a lot of prominent venue discords on Crystal so I'm waking up to Mee6 ban messages calling me a pedophile

- ^ in addition to that, both of us got random hate tells/had our network/friends also attacked such as: "oh you're working with the pedophile", "they disgust me, you should be careful who you associate with". that's outside of staff-related issues when a venue owner gets called a pedo

Or people used an inspect tool to fake discord conversations for a person that was never able to be found, but anxiety and trauma has that effect on people. And nice insult calling every RP'er a weirdo. And you're definitely a spokesperson for lalafell considering you're not in the RP community where the majority of the significant lalafell issues are at.

Removing the chair isn't gonna stop anyone from being harassed. The reason people ignore the dev's comments is that everyone has already made up their minds on this issue beforehand. Everyone who has played through the story has seen the heavy presence of Lalafell in leadership positions being treated as adults, so it just comes down to whether you personally can look past their size and childlike appearance, which some people can't. The presence or lack of any in-game item, piece of dialogue, or developer's note is not going to ever change even one person's opinion on this. The number of being rude to Lalafell players is going to stay exactly the same regardless of whether they added the chair. Lots of RP and gpose communities tend to attract a lot of toxic people in general, and most are honestly just better off not interacting with. Just block, report, and move on. It's really that simple.

At the end of the day, it's just a cute pastel chair. I don't really see how the devs giving Lalafell a childish chair is any different than giving them childish emotes. If anything, it makes practical sense that they would need a chair with high legs to see over tables sized for other races. The color palette is cutesy because Lalafell have always been the cutesy race. There is plenty of other pastel pink/white furniture in the game, I had a lot of them in my previous house which was a Lalafell bakery, and it fits in with those furnishings very nicely.

It's really not going to minimize it even in the smallest margin though. As I said, everyone has already made up their minds on this. Can you find one person whose opinion on whether Lalafells should be considered children was decided by the addition of this chair? If not, how exactly is this making it worse for you?

Because that's how argumentation points work. If someone says this is why I believe x, for a and b reasons, adding c gives more reason to believe said argument. That is what is called evidence. Having more or less does sway judgements. Similar to irl, there are people firmly on either side of a debate that can't be shifted, but there will also be people on the fence that see valid points on both sides and actually nitpick on the amount of compelling evidence from either.
