The Diablo franchise was produced for PC with ports to other platforms an afterthought. Fans had expected D4 for PC to be announced, not a financially abusive mobile game.

The Final Fantasy franchise has been produced primarily for PlayStation with PC more of an afterthought except for the MMO titles. With XVI not being a MMO, suggesting that players who want to play the game earlier get a PS5 instead of waiting for the PC version seems reasonable. Most PC gamers do have at least one gaming console as well.

Said financially abusive mobile game is still making 100s of millions (as of Jan 2023) and is considered a success by Blizzard so I guess people aren't super upset about it.

As was also said earlier, it's not easy to get a PS5 currently. There are still estimations of shortages lasting until 2024. It's not just PC people getting upset here, it's people who literally can't purchase a PS5 because of that or refuse to pay scalper prices for one (cause screw paying $700 for a console that retails for $400-500 depending on digital edition or not).
