Truthfully I wonder how much say Yoshi got in on their designs. Per the interview I linked, the Viera slouch was Yoshi's idea and the QA team had to convince him that it needed adjustments. Don't know if they didn't push hard enough, or if Yoshi locked his legs, or if something else kept everyone on that design.
