Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless

Saving this for later

I honestly don't understand why people are so upset about this. If you don't like jokes about the fact that you look childlike, don't play the childlike race? This would be like me complaining about neck/giraffe jokes because I play an Elezen or a Hrothgar or Miqo'te complaining about furry or cat jokes or something. Nobody is forcing you to play that race, the game even gives you a free Fantasia. Either roll with it or ignore it. This isn't like the real world where racism is a huge issue and you're honestly being kinda ridiculous. If people have "no lalafell" rules for their RP circles why the hell would you want to play with them anyway even if you weren't a lala? That says a lot more about them than you.
........kek
I mean, we play games to escape from our real problems and constant adult bills. It's reasonable to be upset over something that intrudes on our enjoyment outside of the reality of real life.
Our character is often an extension of ourselves or who we want to be, so when there is a problem related to racial fantasy, or issues affecting said race, or the stereotype of playing the race, it inadvertently affects us. Especially when we escape to play FFXIV and choose to play Lala, while also being compared to a nonce because of that decision, then to get a housing item like this. One could see why it's problematic for us Lala players, and it makes any argument to defend our decision, worse. Like the "if you play Hrothgar, you're a furry", is entirely different from "if you play Lala, you are... children". You know?
However, this is me being completely transparent to both sides. I personally don't care about the chair thing, also considering I am just coming back after quitting the game. But I could see why people have a problem, and it's justified.

Nobody genuinely accuses Elezens, Hrothgar, or Miqote players of being a predator though.I honestly don't understand why people are so upset about this. The jokes Lalas get are an entirely different extreme. And people outside of FFXIV, like those on Twitter or whatever, often bring up "real-world issues", in relation to Lalas, or any SMOL race as a shaming tactic for something completely fictional.

Sorry I lost this post in the swarm of whiners still being memes.Obviously not the other poster, but I'm so glad that you've truly listened to them and that their extremely well-articulated comment helped to give you a broader perspective on this situation.
Can we delete the thread now..? Seriously, I'm not even joking.
People are kicking off about hate against lalafell players but I promise you that this thread is doing so much more damage to you guys than any other thing possibly could have without all of this dramatisation of the chair. People vibe so hard with drama because it tickles a little part of their brain and they'll just keep coming back for more tickles... and usually they're exactly the kind of person who's going to say things you don't like just to stir it up and stop the drama from dying down.
Start a new thread, in the right forum location, and ask for the chair to be dyeable like many other furniture items are; I'm going to back you on that 100%. I think it was a real poor move on SE's part for not making it properly dyeable so that people could make it fit in better and choose just how childlike or not this item appears to be, and I'd like to see them fix it. To do that, though, they don't need to remove the chair or change the name/flavour text - they just need to consider that most people won't want a white chair in the middle of their living space.
As I've said before I would have deleted this thread first day if I could have if only to move it to the proper location for localization feedback (Is there a way to ask for mods to move threads?)-- but it's stuck here and people have already seen it so no point of me recreating for further drama. Nor do I want to be accused of spamming the forums with threads. The trolls are getting bored and will probably forget about it by next week.
I just made the mistake of adding the extreme "Removal" and even after fixing that mistake, the title is kinda stuck like that and people are still assuming I want the super extreme change. I don't. I posted an example of a wood dyed chair earlier that makes it look so much less child-like. It's the bright pink and white that's really not doing it any favors. Or really the shape itself (hence many thinking it was a toddler high chair).
I agree though and still stick to either fixing the default wood dye or, if impossible, at least a localization change of the naming.
give therapy a try

If someone "accuses you of being a predator" report them, blacklist them, and move on. They'll get in trouble. Again, this isn't a big deal.Nobody genuinely accuses Elezens, Hrothgar, or Miqote players of being a predator though.
