it's being made by the Tales Of series folks, I believe. so technically, a JMMORPG :P

I think the issue is they're too busy with FF16 right now. I think it's in the final stages and this is always the worst time for any game in production. They're rushing to finish everything they can before the release date. I'm hoping once FF16 is done, Yoshi will be able to give FF14 his full attention.

There's a lot to look forward to still though. We have our graphical update, most likely female Hrothgar and I'm hoping with Hrothgar done Viera / Hrothgar headgear will finally be released, let alone everything that comes with an expansion.

Also, generally speaking, this time is usually the dead time for FFXIV. Just before an expansion announcement the game goes into a lull. It's a great time for people to pick up housing, catch up on content, and get ready for the big announcements in summer. If you're done with your character, it's a good time for a break or to work on Manderville weapons.

i can see this point but then yoshi just need to step down and finish 16. if the content of the game in 7.0 be as lame as it is now and slow to come out on top then all the hard work on the graphical update be for nothing.
as for the "normal" dead time it started in 6.0 then 6.1 then 6.2 then 6.3. when the lively times starting?

We've been in a constant lull since the start of the expansion with how short-lived content has been and now we're just supposed to be ok with a lull at the end of the expansion?
