I'll take the ban if need be, I had never read something so stupid in my time on these forums
Well done
Guys, we're all super entitled for speaking English on the English forums. We should feel terrible and endeavor to speak another language ASAP.
Do you have questions about game mechanics that are not answered looking things up on the Lodestone?
Do you want to complain about that cute dragoon who messed up fifteen times in your last instance?
That is what the forums have become. The first is pretty neat. The latter, not so much.
wish this forum had a thumbsdown feature tbh

So much this. The answer is troll right back these days, or simply tell people to leave. But thankfully, these forums represent a tiny portion of the overall playerbase. If you want the devs to hear you, post on Reddit/social media or Discord.Look at the state of the forums for the last couple years and that's all the reason you need. At least general discussion.
Troll threads, a zillion complaint threads because everyone needs to make their own special thread on the same topic because their opinion is more important.
People bumping 10 year old threads for no reason.
What is there to even engage with here?
No one cares about what you have to say on the forums.
First what you say is false, there has been plenty of educated, respectful and decently explained discussion/complaints over the years, feedback that even as of today is still ignored (i.e the "healer issues" list which so far hasn't been recognized by the devs https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...-healer-issues), if the feedback right now is so negative they are the only ones at fault for letting the situation fester instead of addressing the problem earlier (and I woudn't even say that the situation is that dire considering the amount of white knights still around here)The Enemy, apparently.
Every single time a English writing poster starts complaining about lazy developers, their actual point gets ignored. Every time Square Enix is the subject of derision, the actual point gets ignored. Every time players take sides and prepare for War, the actual points get ignored.
Every time someone expects the developers to actually Read the English forums, they are going to be disappointed for the reasons just given. Who has time for that?
Nuance is not translatable. English speakers take too many shortcuts in explaining what they want. Shortcuts that may be ambiguous to a translator whose first language is probably going to be Japanese.
I'm sure someone reports on general themes. Personally, I would not translate English posts from these forums into Japanese for all the money you might care to throw at me. It's much more difficult than running things through Google Translate.
Second, If a group of grown adults can't handle the negative feedback their product recieves then they shoudn't even be working on it to begin with. When you release a product you're gonna recieve feedback and some of it will be very negative but your duty is to see what's behind it and how to solve the issues if there are some, not completely ignoring it.
You are assuming that someone has not reported any of these back to the head office, and that they're ignoring the forums entirely. Why?First what you say is false, there has been plenty of educated, respectful and decently explained discussion/complaints over the years ... When you release a product you're gonna recieve feedback and some of it will be very negative but your duty is to see what's behind it and how to solve the issues if there are some, not completely ignoring it.
Because you don't see them engaging in dialogue with you about <insert your favorite thread topic here>? Because you don't see them making the changes that you want in the game? Because your vision of the game, and their vision of the game may be different?
