Do not anticipate engagement until and unless you can read, write and speak Japanese.Serious question...
There has always been a stigma about NA forums falling on deaf ears with the devs. So i ask once and for all....when it comes to feedback and how engaged the devs are with NA forums, is there any real reason why we have accepted being alienated and ok with the devs not being engaged with us? Why is our money/opinions not as important if we are also paying customers?
Many North Americans are so entitled that they expect the rest of the world to use English as their primary language.
Then maybe dont expect north america to support your product??? Is it really that difficult to hire help for translation?
Death Is Only The Beginning....
Personally I don't want the developers wasting their time posting individual feedback to hundreds of player questions in the forums when they could be spending their time developing content for the game.
Why is having their personal attention and responses so important to you? If you feel you're being neglected, you have the option to not support their products and yet here you are.
Just because they don't design the game in the way a small percentage of the NA community demands does not mean we are not being heard. Contrary to what some say, we know that they do have members of the Community teams scanning the forums of all languages for feedback and passing it on. There have been times that YoshiP has mentioned specific region community feedback during Live Letters and interviews.
They have their vision for the game and that's what they follow. They'll listen to feedback and that will occasionally influence their decisions but in the end they decide what they're going to make. It's up to you to decide if you want to pay for access.
There are things to engage with here. Not every thread is a troll thread.Look at the state of the forums for the last couple years and that's all the reason you need. At least general discussion.
Troll threads, a zillion complaint threads because everyone needs to make their own special thread on the same topic because their opinion is more important.
People bumping 10 year old threads for no reason.
What is there to even engage with here?
But time spent on forum engagement is time that's not spent developing the game. I'd rather have them working on the game than wasting time justifying their design choices to players who are just going to find more things to complain about if they get the attention they're seeking.

Isn't that the purpose of hiring community managers? Engage with the forums to see what concerns and ideas there are from the community, find the useful information in the sea of threads and turn it into something that can be passed along to the developers. That being said, at the very least I'd love some more moderators in the forums. But time spent on forum engagement is time that's not spent developing the game. Absolutely and tbh given the amount of success this game has had its wild to me that were are even asking for community managers to begin with.Isn't that the purpose of hiring community managers? What an unbelievably garbage take. Just like JP and EU, NA is apart of the playerbase. The Devs should be doing what they can to receive feedback from the players, regardless of language.
This is one of the worst takes I've read on this forum. Im actually speechless that someone can say something like this.
It's the truth, though, when one is speaking about the Developers for this game. One does not 'engage' through a translator.
And, reasonably, how many game developers who don't speak/read/write English do North Americans actually 'engage' with? Most of the English forums for games utilize non-developers to run their forums. What more could they do then write "noted" in a response on these forums? They can't promise anything, they have no insight into what the actual developers are thinking, and the developers are too busy to provide an answer.
There is more engagement between English speaking players and the development team via Live Letters and the Questions session. Even the Japanese forums have never been a place for dialogue.
Do you have questions about game mechanics that are not answered looking things up on the Lodestone?
Do you want to complain about that cute dragoon who messed up fifteen times in your last instance?
That is what the forums have become. The first is pretty neat. The latter, not so much.
