I am fighting with the ISP who says everything is up and running, but this completely knocks my gateway off.
Not sure if this is the right group or not, the right post, either.
Just cant enjoy the content at 30 min drops. Queue up for 20 mins then enter and drop.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Grim
Yesterday and today were a lot of lag spikes for me that lead to unwanted dc's in the end mid dungeon runs. As a DPS player might it be less bothersome for me since I know that the party can handle it with just one DPS, but when I'm trying to level up my Tank Classes or playing any of the Healer Classes is it very frustrating! Did another traceroute just now with the hope that they can fix the problem eventually...
this few days the problem started again, laggy server especially at night. I swear its the server problem, because I changed another ISP, and tried using mobile network, all the same result.
these issues spiked again as of 6.35, and as far as i could guess from social media, it's because they tried the exact same changes to network packets that broke servers on 6.3's launch. pings to the north american data centers puts me at around 26ms, and i have 100% network uptime with no packet loss, yet i'm regularly getting lag spikes wherein i'm not allowed to press a button for seconds at a time, and not only are the same memory leaks that occurred on 6.3's launch happening again to people (see this thread as an example), but on top of that, i've also had friends who will take upwards of hours to transfer when they try to move between data centers, meaning unlike last time, me and my FC can't just visit dynamis when our DC inevitably crashes us.
having this happen once is bad enough, but understandable from the perspective of things breaking at scale. having it happen a second time, with no prior warning that you even made the change again until servers were up, makes me think that someone involved in network infrastructure at SE is convinced there's a theoretically tolerable number of network crashes that would make slightly smaller network packets worth it, when ideally you would recognize that this is an MMO, and the ideal number of people crashing your network would be as close to zero as humanly possible.
Having the same issue since 6.35 patch day. Severe lag spikes on NA servers with around 450+ms latency a few minutes after logging. Seems to be worse in the afternoon / night.
Same here! i'm from South America and some friends from my fc that are from Mexico are having Lag/DC too.
Hyperion / Primal.
I've also been having insane amounts of lag since 6.35, despite my internet being perfectly fine. Many of my friends have too, and it's seemingly at random while we're doing content. It's unplayable levels of bad. Hopefully they revert the netcode changes (again) after what happened with 6.3...
Hey cool, so it isn't just me. My ping to the server is 16ms but I regularly get packet loss when I play ever since 6.35 hit. It's made high input jobs like MCH feel really terrible. I'll also regularly have the game just freeze and show everyone running in place for several seconds and then suddenly speeding up again. Normally if this happened I'd just assume it was on my end, but when it literally coincides with a major patch day and then I see others dealing with the same stuff, I just call it what it is.

Ever since 6.35 I've also had the same packet loss problem. I'm in the UK, running FFXIV on a PS5, using a Plusnet wireless fiberoptic broadband connection. All my other games (and general internet stability) are absolutely fine - just FFXIV that's playing up.
Was trying to play the game early today between 3-4pm and the lag was awful, every 30 seconds or so, until eventual the entire game would hang (really annoying when you're trying to glitch some housing furniture). After the game hanged 3 times in a row I had to give up in the end - the game is completely unplayable for me at the moment. The exact same thing happened with 6.3 a while back until they fixed it, so I guess they've broken whatever they broke previously again this time round.
FYI the hot fix they attempted earlier today hasn't fixed the problem <sigh>.
