The product can be picked up at any point after the fact for growth prioritization. Just as XI is in Maintenance Mode, it could be at some point expanded on with priority. But that's unlikely.

Anyway, I'm not saying it's in full Maintenance Mode, but it's definitely in a "Don't make any big decisions" mode. Because we know Yoshi can't 100% focus on both. We kinda have to live with that fact.

We've basically been stuck in the 'Stable Version' of XIV for the past 3 years. lol

As opposed to WoW, who's been making some pretty bold core game-loop changes.
WoW is actually putting effort into their newest xpac. Next patch is giving players a new zone, more outdoor content, on top of raids and mythic+ dungeons. All because they've listened to the criticism their player base leveled against them all last year. In contrast, the FF14 player base is cult-like in their defense of the game. It's impossible to even talk about the terrible state of EW patches without being met "Well ACKSHULLY." If these people were around back in 1.0, the game wouldn't exist today.
