We wait till 14 more years actually
The general gameplay formula's been pretty much the same since Heavensward. So more like past 7 years. But they seem to be taking less chances as everything below Extreme has consistently been made easier and easier after Stormblood.
The classes most hit in general are the Tanks, as they keep cutting away at their identities as they standardize them as much as they can... ShB they made all the tank stances just be pretty much "do more threat" rather than having some more unique things between them...
Like PLD used to be the main physical damage tank, DRK the magic damage tank and WAR just had more HP and recieved extra healing while tanking.
FFXIV healing is still fairly good by MMO standards, as often it devolves into staring at health bars and spamming heals as people take damage. But really the gameplay when not healing should definitely be more engaging than spamming Glare/Broil/Malefic/Dosis.
The very limited housing plots are very much a problem, that they refuse to address. And having a house is a mild requirement for some crafting things as you need to have access to cross-planting.
And they definitely should make voyages available to everyone.
Yep. And I'll stay subbed so I can talk to you on this forum AND keep my house.
I wonder how many subs they'd lose if housing wasn't FOMO. lol
Yeah I'd argue it was Stormblood as the single point of fault. Instead of learning from Stormblood and adding more to the engaging gameplay, they just kinda kept.. Taking away.
So Endwalker feels like a really watered down version of Stormblood at this point.

You know it's OK to take breaks from the game right? Hell even I'm burnt out from the game and only log in once every 2 weeks to keep my ability to post on here. I've really no intent to do ANYTHING other than maybe socialize in the rare moments I do log in. I'm not even done with the story of the last patch. I'm just waiting for the next expansion.
So if something is going on you don't like...either do something else in game be it content you've not done, socialize, or just unsub for a bit and wait.
On other topics that have been brought up...Yeah there should be no reason that both Hrothgar/Viera AND housing is still so messed up after so many years. I'm no programmer and I know it's not easy but it's been a LONG time with pretty much no progress being made when it is a giant issue.
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.

But if you don't enjoy the game anymore than what's the point of keeping a house?
This is the thing I don't get lol. Not saying g this is you but this is the feeling I get a lot here. "man, I really hate this game. I'd never play it again if I didn't have a house."
I do agree there's a lack of effort on SE's part lately. Everything is fine, but they've been locked into the same predictable development cycles for years now and don't seem want to change anything. This unfortunately seems to include fixing a lot of longstanding issues.
My best guess is the team really is trying to do too much with FF16 on their plates and FF14 is suffering as a result.
To be honest, I just don't see how this game can go another decade like YoshiP said. Not without them breaking out of their mold and also actually working on some of the core game issues.

I already explained myself a page ago. I never said I hated the game, it's people making that assumption.
I'm allowed to have issues with the direction the past 4 years and still have a sub, a house, and an FC. I mostly enjoy the marketplace during content lulls.
That game is not perfect, nor are the people in charge of it. Never has been, and I would say no MMO games can say that they are (Although its subjective). There is alot of things that we should voice concerns about, such as the lacklustre nature of the Mog Store items, and the ongoing housing issue. Plus SE as a whole is messing up so bad they are acting like a Sprout engaing in endgame raids cosntantly dying as they try and explain in chat why NFTs are actually not a scam thought up by intoxicated Namazu.
However, I do feel that some of the complaints are a little bit of a reach. I know, exaggeration in a MMO forum? Who ever heard of such a thing! Just things such as the accusations of the game basically being in maintenance mode, or the devs being purposefully lazy in content. Would I like more things to do each patch? Sure, but I would hardly call what we are getting a drought. If it is, then what about all the other patches that have come before? Is there really such a chasm between such content? Mabey I am just easy to please, as someone who enjoyed Island Sanctuary and the latest raid haha

It's the random couple dozen or so people here that the negative, bitter echo chamber on this forum willfully ignores is the minuscule minority compared to the hundreds of thousands of players who are very much enjoying the game. The bitter cabal can't stand that the world doesn't revolve around them. It's just immaturity, plain and simple.
