This conversation is pointless at this point since we're both agreeing here. Moving on.You're missing the point in what I am saying (or more likely intentionally ignoring it, as is common on these forums). I am not saying this doesn't help push consoles. I am saying that was not SE's purpose in it. What I am telling you is that SE is primarily only in it for the up front money, and that the side-effect of the deal is a potential increase in console sales. Sony is making the deal in part for the sake of increased revenue from console sales and in part so they can take most of the game's expected revenue for themselves, having already paid SE off.
Do you know what will happen if Playstation sales ever drop off significantly? SE will choose a different platform to make these deals with. They have done so before during lulls in PS sales, and they will do so again if their company doesn't go under in the next few years.
