I use my PC for art and my job so I already have a lot of junk filled in my drives among my library of Steam games + mods, even with external hard drives, theres only so much my PC can handle with its performance. Which is why consoles are good for me to alleviate some of that stress by having a machine to solely play games that I care for without worrying about overly stressing my PC with installed apps. I really only am capable of handling a choice few AAA titles in my machine to run well without having to undergo some sort of cleanup. What constant maintenance and storage issues do you have on your PC? Genuinely curious.
I think the second part is the important part when you think about costs as well. If you own a PS5 do you also own a PC? If you include the cost of the PS5 into the cost of the PC, how much better of a PC could you have gotten or what could you upgrade for the cost of the PS5 in the PC to make it equivalent/better than the PS5?
This is why we still have consoles. You cant really rely on just one machine to do everything for your entertainment. Its getting there, but its still not good enough.
Also. Some games on consoles still offer "couch co-op" or local multiplayer on 1 machine. Which is better for social gatherings or if you have multiple children. Consoles also take up way less space than a comparable gaming PC. However consoles have been migrating from just playing games to being multimedia centers to connect to a TV. This is seen more on the xbox and playstation. TBH they've gotten to a point where they're just about a PC on their own with a mostly static hardware configuration and far more closed off OS placing limitations on what the user can do without "jailbreaking" it.I use my PC for art and my job so I already have a lot of junk filled in my drives among my library of Steam games + mods, even with external hard drives, theres only so much my PC can handle with its performance. YES!! Pls Yoshi bring It!!I don't mind waiting for the eventual PC port... Look at FFXV, for example. By the time it came to PC the game was in a much better state.
Slight offtopic but I'm pretty sure when the PC port releases, XVI and XIV will certainly have a collab, given it's Yoshi-P in both titles.

Wow - a game being tied behind a console exclusive for solely a console that continues to have selling issues to limited availability? Surely this wont impact the week 1 sales numbers that SE lives and dies by.
you know sony pays for part of the exclusivity ya? if not outright paying for then paying for the upfront cost of dev, which the team has on record said sony did provid. So even if sales are "lesser" they make a profit from either the payed deal or the lowered cost of creating the product. Once the deal is up, there will be another hit of sales when it comes off and you see it on MS and PC. You see the same sort of things in the pc landscape where epic will pay an exobiant amount of cash to have a limited timed exclusivity, enough where the dev team of a game would be stupid not to take it, and then get another hyper bang out when it comes to steam.
Example: What happened to Hades and now darkest dungeon 2.

We literally saw it with Stranger in Paradise and Epic exclusive which caused lower sales. We also still dont have a confirmation of a PC port for 16. We know its coming, but when is another question.you know sony pays for part of the exclusivity ya? if not outright paying for then paying for the upfront cost of dev, which the team has on record said sony did provid. You kept side stepping the reason lol. Sure, anyone with two braincells put together will know more platforms = more sale, so I don't think you have to keep stating the obvious. But, less early sell =/= permanent loss sale. I think the louder someone are about this issue, the clearer it shows how strong your desire to play the game. Like ... I don't believe they will lose your sale, they either get your money now, or they get your money 1-2 years later when the port come out. If you tell me you gonna "boycott" the game unless you get it now ... yeah right, I gonna call you bluff for it.
The only difference it will make to SE is the extra support and money they get for free from Sony. I know it's hard to swallow the truth you don't want, but they're just making smart business decision, no amount of salt from other platform gonna change that fact.

Sure, but we also dont have any confirmation of a PC port coming also.
Nor that I am saying it is - the thing I was point out is that the company mostly focused on week one sales for internal report (you can literally read this in most reports given by SE) by having an exclusive deal to port the game only on PS5. A console notorious for having supply issue for consumers to buy. But, less early sell =/= permanent loss sale.
What are you even talking about at this point?I think the louder someone are about this issue, the clearer it shows how strong your desire to play the game. Like ... We will have to see ultimately - especially since this game has been in development since 2015 and has been delayed multiple times already if the exclusivity deal money is able to accrue the development costs. The only difference it will make to SE is the extra support and money they get for free from Sony. I know it's hard to swallow the truth you don't want, but they're just making smart business decision, no amount of salt from other platform gonna change that fact.
