Sadly not. I fear the content will get even less tho. Endwalker will probably be remembered as the expansion of content droughts.

what no, I mean I think the content got stale fast but did you play shadowbringers? They barely did anything outside of Bozja. We already got a PVP revamp, sanctuary island, criterion and are getting a new deep dungeon. The expac already has more content than SHB and its in its .3 patch.

Shadowbringers was pretty bad but I think the added time between patches is starting to add up for people. Now I don't want people to work themselves to death for my entertainment so I don't have an issue with patch cycles being longer but I do think content longevity is a problem that really needs to be looked into.

Only reason why Shadowbringers was considered good was because everyone liked the story. Everything else about it just sucked in general and or controversial. Stormblood imo had a not so great story (personally disagree with this opinion) but had some of the best content.

100% agree, a lot of the game has no replayability value. As such, whatever millions they spend on making the msq animations and everything else unfortunately its disposable one and done kind of things. They need to design content that is fun to replay and is not mandatory for those who want to play less.

Personally I think this issue lies in how easy and scripted content can be, because that makes you not want to experience it as much since its just the same thing over and over, and whatever random things we have like POTD and HoH are so stale and unvarying that I wouldn't consider them fulfilling experiences.

I guess my question would be, are people expecting the devs to suddenly just work more? Or are they going to hire a bunch of more people (which means higher sub costs/monetization/etc)? Or should they simply reduce the scale of expansions more to make content more consistently drip fed? Even IF they did that, mmo players are notorious for consuming content way faster than devs can make it.

I guess I just don't see the reality of how exactly they're going to be able to make MORE content for every group of players that they're trying to please.

I can answer for myself, I would like for devs to work smarter, and put their resources into making content that has several variables and is fun to replay instead of creating beautiful slideshows that you never want to do again. So its not more work, the priority in design should be more would players like to do this several times? instead of just pumping out something that fits the narrative and that's it.

I don't care how amazing people putting toppings on food looks if it's going to cost me bland gameplay design. If they can do both then great, but gameplay > beautiful msq animations.

I don't feel like this is a matter of "more content", at this point. And more like, how to make content which actually bonds people and gives a sense progression? I can't play PVP with friends, I can't do Blue Carnival with friends, I can't enjoy my island with friends and my island has very little "building/customization" aspect, so I can't truly progress inside it or plan a visual for it or whatever, it's a way to click on rocks and generate glamour. All custom deliveries and tribes work in the same logic, if you did one you did all of them. I can't even do the dungeons from the expansion because my roulette only throws me in Brayflox Longstop even if the whole party it 80+.

I feel like these aspects, combined with the fact that a lot of the old content combat is REALLY boring to do - the syncing of this game and the way powercreep works are terrible, and, unless you're trying for a specific extreme, progging savage/ultimate, you're left with very little options of combat at the cap, adds up to the sensation of "there's nothing to do".

We're already in a tight formula which I believe that many people that plays this for years have already accepted. I'm not even going to question that. But the social and the feeling of progressing in the current content we've been getting are kinda lacking.

No I can tell you players aren't accepting this formula so well, it's not holding up. My FC with players all the way from 1.0 died during EW, they weren't willing to put up with the same thing over and over for basically a decade. And while the only metric I have on a daily basis is the novice network which definitely seems to be full every day now compared to other expansions past the PF is kinda of dead since all content is old which tells me the game is getting propped up by new players due to the games increased popularity.

But new players are a finite resource and if the game doesn't do a good job at retention then it's going to die out. Yes some people take breaks and do come back, but the amount of people I know that won't come back anymore this time around is pretty high.

Really though this isnt anything new with FFXIV. Play a game that long enough and people will start to feel burned out.
