This is probably true for every topic on the forums tbhI don't think anyone is disagreeing with this lol. Everyone knows mods are against TOS and certain mods are basically cheats.
The disconnect here seems to be one side, or at least a hyper-zealous minority that needs to be reigned in so they stop making their side look bad, is witch hunting and attacking people that even slightly disagree with them and is arguably over concerned with what other people are doing.
The other side, who for the most part is of the stance "if it doesn't cause Square to punish us y'all need to calm down a bit", has certain people that are extremely caustic (and who thankfully haven't appeared in this thread yet) who make THEIR side look bad. And bringing up someone's mount collection ain't it bro.
Both sides need to reign themselves in, this has been a multi-thread topic and honestly all it ends up being is a bunch of stupid bickering.
As a little side note here, thanks to third party tools you can also tell if the person bought their prestigious weapons and such with carries.I mean, people standing around afk showing off their in-game earned gear has been a thing in MMOs forever. Especially raiders that typically have very unique items compared to the majority of the playerbase. It's just one of the rewards for tackling difficult content.
Stuff like act and fflogs should only be to improve yourself or your static if everyone agrees it goes a step farther if someone bullies someone else with fflogs and act. The UAV mod it a form of cheat that everyone should say that is a cheat if you use it in raids. But on the other hand the people who bullies everyone for using act and fflogs also validates the tos by mass reporting since it could be a sign of harassment. It used to be don't ask and don't tell but some people are taking it way too far.

Making another thread. Side note you should have discussed this with your static and said person who used the cheat. Give them a chance. You jumped the gun and now you have to deal with the actions you clearly made.
If you got to cheat to win that says enough about you and it ain’t muchYes, and so is crossing a red light for pedestrians even if it's 3 AM and there's no cars around, so ? Do you see cops going all over the place arresting or giving citations to people crossing red pedestrian lights when there's no cars around ? No. Except overzealous cops.
Is it agaisnt TOS ? Yes, does anyone care aside from a small minority ? No.
I think the crux of the issue is the classic imposing one personal belief on another. Sure mods are breaking the ToS and some are cheating thing is some people just don't care or refuse to accept it.
Thing is I do not think we should promote witch hunting because people are breaking the rules especially where it really has no negative impact on others.
This is like the animal crossing star tree drama, where people would go and look for worlds that had star trees and report them because they modified their game which broke the ToS.
Live and let live, if people want to cheat let 'em not saying you have to be okay with it. Don't associate, or acknowledge their wins but no need to treat them like they are monsters and wish D
Divine punishment on them.
You would only do it then because you know you wouldn't be caught. If there was a chance you could be caught, you wouldn't do it. Just knowing they can give you a ticket.Yes, and so is crossing a red light for pedestrians even if it's 3 AM and there's no cars around, so ? It's the same with mods. People know they are "illegal", so they hide them. Don't need to hide something if it's okay.
