Was any of the 6.3 content worth waiting 4 months for?

When people are against even the basic idea of adding more content to a game, I think there's grounds for saying that there's either some level of zealotry going on or that people's standards are way too low. The fact that some people want to be told to not play the game they're paying for is mind-boggling.

Never have I once seen someone say they "want" to be told to play something else...
I've only seen people say that they like that xiv allows them to play what they want without fear of falling behind.

You know what's more mind boggling? People paying for a game they do nothing but complain about at every turn. All that does is tell the devs it's ok to do whatever you feel they're doing wrong.

and yet you're missing the entire point of the argument. Nobody is saying we dont want new content, just that some of the ideas you and aveyond throw around arent very good for what should or should be considered "good retention content". The point is we want to avoid crappy grinds for the sake of grinds. There's also the argument that no single content is everlasting and fulfilling enough to keep you entertained for the whole patch duration. That in of itself is a myth as people finish up whatever new activity of the week is and go back to do old content, play with friends or just spend their time elsewhere.

What you're debating for is not new content, its for lasting content that involves needless grinds. Lets be honest here awesomeJr, you're not fooling anyone with this.

You haven't read even the first few pages of the thread if you genuinely think this (which I doubt most of you actually do). I've specifically mentioned that I don't want 'hellgrinds' as it's been named previously. Unending grinds is the opposite extreme of what we have now. I'm not calling for FFXIV to be hurtled into that extreme, but rather go somewhere in the middle. Sadly it seems like anytime anyone asks for that, they are misinterpreted (intentionally or not) to be asking for 'hellgrinds'. People are too scared to admit/realize that we're at the opposite extreme of WoW, and that both extremes are bad.



(middle is meant to say "lasting non-required content for those who want it. It's really late here and I'm half asleep LOL)

Please for the love of the Twelve tell me where ANY player realistically felt satisfied with a piece of content that lasted and kept that retention for the "sweet spot" of retention you place here. Everyone I interacted, everyone whom I known in other MMOs have either min-max the content to finish it early or do it long enough to lose interest and move on to something else. Every piece of content in this game including relics never last long enough to pad out the patch cycle. It has always been a get your fill and come back later scenario. Why are we pretending it wasnt always like this?

Bouncing off of this....once again...saying this for the 3rd time...maybe I just missed it since there is so many threads here.
But...what kind of Content are you asking for, that would realistically fill this "Lasting Content"? If the solution is to just make more content, then the sacrifice is we'd have to wait EVEN LONGER for the next patch so they could make this 'Lasting Content'.
And lets humor the idea that this is what they do.....who is to say that you wont somehow blast through it all in a Short amount of time because likely you decided not to do anythng else but play all the games new content?
Guess what...Back to squareone, complaining there isnt any/enough content, and now you have to wait...god who knows how long. But there is a solution to this...one that you claim you arnt asking for, but its the only way TO make "Lasting Content"...a ridiculous and dumb Hellgrind.This is the only way to pad out content to last. And not everybody wants this.

The next complain will be "The Grind is too much, Nerf it"
And guess what this means?...Absolutely, nothing, got solved.
